It's been dinging it down with rain since the night before last, pretty much constantly. I was woken up several times last night by heavy falls.

It's SIL's 40th birthday today so we'll probably be going to see her, and stopping off at the Mall on the way/back. Some more laundry. That's about it I think.

What's on your list?

sit here and feel sorry for myself because we have a water leak in a pipe at the hot water heater.
And I have to get a pile of crap out of the closet (the heater is in a little 'closet' in my closet) so I can pull back the carpet so it can dry out.

We have someone coming up tomorrow to help fix it. He had to rearrange a job so he could. A plumber wants $400-$500 just to show up!

Hopefully it's not to expensive to repair Tam.

Today at 4pm I'm having family over for Lilly's birthday. The house is clean, so I'll just be prepping for the party.

make lemon sugar cookies (2 dozen)
cut fruit (watermelon, strawberries, pineapple)
boil corn on the cob (might grill it, we'll see)
make deviled eggs
grill italian chicken
then get myself ready lol

the rest of the menu (from family)
bean salad
salad
cheese ball w/crackers
angel food cake
chips
vegetable tray w/dip
pasta salad

We're going to have way to much food!

Mario was here today for his 29th birthday and we had much fun. Natascha and Thomas were here too and we celebrated a little. Michi did not have time again ,which made me sad. I cannot believe that it is already 29 years ago that my first baby was born.
Mario left an hour ago because he has to work night shift.

I hope you have lots of fun celbrating Lilly's Birthday Jen and for Tam I hope that repairing will not be too expensive. I hate when things like that happen.

Well, hubby is going to pay him for coming up (he lives in RI). He's the hubby of a work colleague - he helped me last year with the electrical problem (he's actually an electrician) and a few other things.

I pulled the carpet and pad out of the closet and they're laying outside to dry.

Went under the house to turn off the main water (I don't think the valve to the water heater shuts off completely or something. Just to be sure.) and it went down through the floor too. I found a wet spot and investigated. The underside of my house is insulated (and has a plastic liner) and not just with the pink sheeting but with blown-in cotton insulation. It's a mess and ginormous PITA to deal with. The plastic sheeting doesn't repair easy.

Got up early and went for a walk with other people. We raised money for single moms and babies. So proud of ds. We met up with some friends that we didn't know were going to be there so that was nice.

Finally got in to see my grandmother, it's been months. We had a good chat and the 40 minutes went by so fast.

Then we grabbed a few groceries, used some coupons for some free ice cream, picked up a few flowers but there is a frost warning for tonight and tomorrow so it looks like they will be planted maybe on Monday.

Made supper and got invited out to a late night movie. Thankfully after trying to get a sitter one of my sister is planning on coming, ds will be in bed so it will be easy.

Good thing I had a snooze when we got home for a bit otherwise I'd be wiped and would probably fall asleep in the movie theater. Did that before.... friends took us shortly after my mom passed away and after not sleeping for over a week I fell asleep during the movie.

Anyways, it was a fun day but a tiring day. we are all tired.

Well, I guess I should have checked the tank for the grill. It was empty, but my brother and dad went to the gas station and got another one. Dinner was a little late, but it was all good.

Abby was going to stay the night with my inlaws again, but right when they were getting ready to leave she hugged me and said, "where's dad? I want a hug from daddy too." It worries me a bit that she asked where he was. I thought these past few months she understood. Now I'm wondering? I'm not sure if she's tired from staying over with them last night, or just sad. She decided to stay home with me. We cuddled and now she's getting her shower. Her sisters said that they would play dolls with her. Of course then Lilly said this is why she didn't want to celebrate. She knew someone would be upset.

More activity today than I can even list! LOL

Baby J's birthday party at his grandpa's rehab facility (aka nursing home) out of town. Awkward, but doable.

Mark was able to work in the garage on a Mustang makeover for six hours before we went.... then after the party we came home to sit outside and enjoy the evening at the gas station w/Britt, Jave and J.

Dinner, couch, tv. Great day!

Camy didn't want Abby to sleep alone tonight, so she suggested a 'sleepover' party in her room. I put their mattresses on the floor. Abby was smiling from ear to ear. Camy is such a sweetie.

Went to a baby shower for a friend's daughter. I felt bad for her. She invited 75 people, rented a huge room and had a ton of food. 50 people RSVP'd - about 20 showed up. She kept a good face and a cheer attitude, but I could tell she was upset.

Then we went to the County Fair to watch one of the grand-daughters dance. I was HOT HOT HOT. Icky - sticky HOT. But, she was thrilled that we came.

Then home and some scrapping.

That's awful Claudia, to reply saying they're coming and then not show up. Really inconsiderate. I'm sorry.

Jen. I expect Abby was just tired. I'm sure she understood really - it was just hoping against hope.

Oh that is awful. I am so sorry for your friend. I don't get why people do that. And did they call to say they would not be able to come after all?
