I make my meatballs with a mixture of pork and red meats so they stay juicer. Then I brown them in a pan. After they are nice a brown I add the marinara sauce into the pan with the meatball and simmer for a while to finish cooking the meat and have the flavor so marry nicely. Make of buy your favorite French bread and mozzarella cheese. Enjoy! You can make the sandwiches and pop them in the oven for a bit to crisp the bread and melt the cheese. Yum!

Sounds good Viv, thanks! I might cheat and use frozen meatballs but have the french bread, special cheese & can make my own sauce.

Off to look up American "subs". In my world that means subscription or submarine and neither of those go with meatballs.

Yup... that's what it is Rosey. Here is a picture of one that Subway (sandwich shop) offers. I may cut my meatballs in half so they sit better. Gonna be a mess to try to eat - lol - fork and multiple napkins required!

Hokay. Got it. Ya learn something new every day. You'd need a knife and fork to eat that though, wouldn't you? I'm not sure even my mouth opens that wide.

Well technically Kim, I've never made sauce from scratch (thanks for asking)

But if I did, I'd use tomatoes that we've canned from our garden, some olive oil, garlic, minced onion, oregano & a bit of pepper.
