What are your plans for the turning of the year?

It's our 20th anniversary of meeting today, the 19th of our getting engaged, and 14th of when we should have got married. Wow.

Happy Anniversary, Rosey! Why should have gotten married? I can't remember, if you told us already!

We spend a nice afternoon at home, Natascha is with Thomas at his family. They will come to our appartement in the evening and then we will eat some sandwiches and at 10 we will go to a neigbor town to celebrete New Year's Eve outside and see the fireworks. We don't have a firework here, because the make a laser show. We are oldfashioned tough
Natascha and Thomas will go with us.

Wow a laser show! That sounds like something else.

Thanks Susi! We were going to get married on Dec 31st 1999 - had almost everything arranged. Then the June before, my Dad and DH's Grandad were both diagnosed with cancer. We brought the wedding forward to July so that Dad could give me away. Grandad didn't make it that long but we included him in all the preparations and he loved the bridesmaids' dresses. We still had our reception on New Year's Eve as planned.

One year after the wedding, on our first anniversary, we lost my Dad. So that day is now kept for his memory, and we celebrate New Year's Eve when we met, got engaged, and should have got married.

We stay home, eat snacky stuff, play games, watch the Rockin' New Year and ball drop.

I'd rather see fireworks, too, Susi!

I am still cleaning and organizing. I didn't do a whole lot yesterday because my washer needed some TLC and I had to fix it. I did fill another 30 gallon trash bag full of stuff to get rid of and 1/2 bag of trash. I think I put out 9 bags of trash last night and they took it all, so that's good. I was also supposed to have my babysitting kids but their grandma wanted them today. I am hoping to run to town to our Salvation Army. They are losing their building to another merchant in town and they are having a sale, fill a bag for $5.00.

I have no plans for this evening. I have not celebrated NYE for years. I just go to bed early.

Well... we were awake upstairs & considering getting up, when Brittany text'd from downstairs saying we needed to come clean the kitchen ASAP. Duke (the 12+ yo golden retriever that sheds like who wouldn't have it... ) had pooed, peed & thrown up all over the kitchen floor

So Mark spent the next half hour on his hands & knees cleaning that up. I gave the bebe a bottle while mom got ready to go to grandparents for breakfast.

Having coffee now and enjoying the quiet house. Mark will take out the tree today and I will sweep up after him. I'll vacuum a bit, wipe down the bathrooms and change sheets on the guest bed.

We are hosting a small get together tonight, just Britt's family, one of her close friends + her hubby and baby boy that is four weeks older than baby J. Will have meatballs, little wieners, shrimp cocktail, cheesy sausage dip, a new stuffed pecan recipe I found, brownies and drinks. We'll play games and watch the NYE special on tv.

Stephanie, what's wrong with Duke? We're going to a friend's get-together for finger foods and play a few games. We won't stay late like most will. It gets my kids and me lol all out of wack if we're not in bed wayyy before midnight!!

We have the last Christmas celebration tonight with 2 friends of mine from high school and their families. We'll be home long before midnight as we are old. But if my sleeplessness continues (up until almost 2 last night) I will probably watch the ball drop on my own.

Put Christmas away today, house looks clean and fresh. Kids coming over tomorrow so it won't look like this for long.

I will stay home and watch the ball drop in New York but it will be an hour after it is midnight in Texas.

Today is my oldest son's and his wife's 24th wedding anniversary. Where oh where has the time gone.

I want to wish each of you a Happy New Year! I so hope that this new year is better for me than 2013 was.

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! We are staying home and having a nice dinner together just the five of us. The kids are too young to stay up at a party and I get blue at midnight because I miss Argentina. I'm happy to be home though. We've been cleaning all morning and took down the tree. The internet has been fixed but still have no land line... Even the guy from the am vets came and took our old stools, a bunch of toys and clothes. I feel so accomplished!

Happy anniversary Rosey and aunt Rosys son!

Amazing how much I missed the internet! LOL

Kim, we're not sure what's wrong with Duke. He is getting old & has a tough time getting around (up & down stairs) now... and he's started having more potty accidents in the kitchen overnight. This was a bad one though. We recently found a growth on his gum & he's going to have it removed on the 14th. Will have the dr. check on numerous things at that time.

Happy New Year everyone!!

The girls have asked me to come up with hourly activities again this year. They really enjoyed doing that last year. I'm guessing we'll be making jewelry, scrapbooking, baking cookies, playing the PS3 and/or board games, working puzzles, and making crafts. The hourly activities will start after dinner.

I think I'll make a taco buffet for dinner. That way we can snack on it again later if we get hungry.

Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Tonight we are having a feast! I will make cheese fondue then hubby will grill steaks. For dessert- chocolate fondue. Then we will all kinda hang around and watch the ball drop. We were invited to a couple of parties - but since having Maryann, we prefer to stay home.

We'll have one couple over who lives here in our neighborhood and my parents are here as well. We'll eat, drink, probably play board games, yak, and watch the ball drop.

We're having cocktail meatballs, little smokies, queso, salsa, chips, and whatever our friends bring over.

Happy New Years!! We are doing nothing. Char is having a horrible day because she always spent New Years with her grandmother for as long as we can remember. So sad. She watched a movie with me today and laughed after she had a good cry, so that is good. We are such duds in my family!
