This year I paired down Christmas in that I didn't make cookies or rush around to get a gift for everyone I am "supposed" to get gift for (mailman, newspaper person, bus driver etc..) I think it was just getting out of hand. Instead, I concentrated on who in my life were the most important and I made an effort to either get a gift for them or visit with them. Sometimes the gift of time is more precious then anyone realizes.

I wrapped all my gifts between last night and today, and finished mailing the last of my cards today. (I had to re-order them since I needed more! Won't be happening again next year!!) Tomorrow I have to do some cleaning, make my sauce, manicotti shells and then make the manicotti, as well as make some cookies and or breads for some neighbors. (and if I don't get to the baking-no big deal!!)

I am feeling good about Christmas for the first time in years!! For years my therapist has been telling me to let go of the "shoulds" and I just couldn't do it. Who knew it could feel this good!!

It does feel wonderful doesn't it? Who knew that being reasonable with ourselves could be so good?

Have a wonderful Holiday

Great job, Nora! I was able to let a few things go too, and I found some "cheats" for some of the others. It sure does help! I'm sure I would have totally lost my mind otherwise!

That's great! Holidays should be a blessing, not a burden.
