The ornaments are really easy -

Get clear glass ball ornaments and acrylic paints

Take the tops off the ornaments

Squeeze two or three (or more) colors of paint into the ornaments

Turn the ornament so that the bottom is covered.

Turn the ornament upside down into a small Dixie cup.

The paint will flow down the sides.

Let the ornaments sit overnight so they are really dry.

Put the tops back on - Wa La - you're done.

This would be fun over Christmas break. Did you try adding glitter inside any of them?

Oh wow, that's easy enough to do even with fairly young kids. Thanks for sharing!

The girls did try glitter in one, but the acrylic paint is so thick it just sort of swallowed the glitter. One of the paints we used was a "gleam" paint so there was some extra shine with that one.

I read something about coating the inside of glass baubles with furniture polish. Then put the glitter in and it sticks to the polish, which then dries. I haven't tried it, but I couldn't help thinking what a great idea that would be.
