But boy -- is it nice out now!!

I knew I should have put our outdoor Christmas decorations up earlier this week. It was nice, but I had other things going on. Oh well. Hopefully we'll have another decent day this week.

I just hope we don't lose our power.

Same here - WINDY - it just blew over our adirondack chairs & I read on FB someones grill was tumbling across the yard. Lots of tornado watches / warnings. I'm not worried, it's kind of cozy since we'd planned on being in all day anyway. But will obviously keep an eye on the news & out the window.

Storm is just starting here too, there has been quarter size hail, I said 1/4 inch? They said no, quarter, as in money! Wind crazy, raining sideways, really dark outside. Really loud, long thunder. Gonna be a long day/night.

Karen, we are 50 miles SE of Washington. FB is blowing up with pictures & prayers for the area - one subdivision leveled. Mark works in Bloomington/Normal, which is much closer to Washington and has a lot of coworkers who live there. He just text'd his big boss to see how they are and he replied "we're ok. We're basically at ground zero, but doing ok. Neighbors are here & their home is gone"

Meanwhile... the sun is shining bright here right now. We've had two cells go through but nothing too bad. Then the sun pops out before another fast moving front. Very strange weather day.

HERE is one of the first news stories. It hit less than two hours ago - so plenty more news to come. See where it says Moraine View St. Park? That's where we are.

Wow -- tell Mark we've got his fellow employees in our thoughts/prayers.

We do not have a basement in this house. The neighbor just came over and told us they were heading in town to where he knew they were safer. He and his wife are terrified of tornadoes and they go to the local hospital and ride it out there. He gave us his weather radio in the event we lose power. DH is thinking of going to the newspaper office where he can listen to the police scanner and if necessary, go where he needs to go to report on the storm.

This is when I hate his job...

Jen, take care of yourselves up there where you are. Keep us informed as to how you fare.

Where is Vivi located around?? Was she in any danger zones that have been hit??

It's suppose to hit us hard in about 25 minutes. Winds up to 85mph. We're not to worried about a tornado going through our area, but we're hoping the high winds don't knock out our power. Poor Abby is worried she might not get to eat dinner.

Yeah Jen, it's crazy it got over to you guys in IN so quickly - you could literally see the dark clouds rolling to the east.

Just hitting us now, moving into Ohio (we live 6 miles from the line). Satellite TV was only off for a few minutes and that puppy goes off in a breeze, it seems.

Oh crap -- the tornado siren just went off.

Thanks -- we are good with no issues. Not even sure why the alarm went off. Didn't see any reports of sightings in our area on the weather. Winds weren't even picking up. Thankfully.
