I just need to vent a bit.

I am another board besides this one (don't think anyone here is on that one). Anyway, My husband goes to Paris twice a year on business and I posted that I am finally going to go with him. Actually, I just posted that I was finally going to Paris. So, this woman responds that she would rather go to Rome. I found this off-putting because I am excited to go to Paris and the one time I went to Rome, I had a bad experience. She's never been to Paris, but that's besides the point. So, I wrote that maybe she didn't know my husband goes there on business. She wrote back that she knew. Anyway, the whole thing seemed weird, why put down where someone else is going? So, I sent her a PM telling her I knew she meant well but I found it off-putting and told her why. She sent me back a nasty PM.

I should just stick to scrapping and not chatting.

What a strange thing for her to say. You're not going to Rome, you're going to Paris. What has Rome got to do with anything? I can see why you were taken aback.

How wonderful to get to go to Paris! Have a wonderful time!

Personally, I think it's GREAT that you get to go with him this trip!! Congrats and have a great time -- hopefully it'll be soon before the weather makes sightseeing atrocious.

As far as getting others comments, there are just times that you need to let them slide off your back. Try not to let it get you down and curb your enthusiasm. You deserve so much better than that.

Have a great trip and come home and scrap it and share!!

Actually, we won't be going until the weather gets lousy, but Paris is fine in any weather. We went to Paris for a long weekend (pre-kids) in mid-January and had the best time. The city had less tourists and we had a great time). This time we are taking the kids, hopefully they can behave appropriately.

What an adventure for the kids. They will surprise you and soak it all in.

Will you see all the sites on your own or thru a tour company?? So much to see!! I'm excited for you!!

Louise - how exciting to go to Paris!!! and I agree, what an odd thing to say - you are going to Paris, why bring in another city??? I would chalk it up to jealousy or something. Also, I'm with you on going to places during the off season. The fewer tourists, the better! I don't mind lousy weather at all

Sometimes I have bad interactions like this as well, and feel the EXACT same way. And the reality is is that all different types of people from all different types of lifestyles come and join together on boards, things like this do happen. Keep chatting, ignore those that are off-putting, and keep scrapping. Sorry You have a bad interaction! and YAY For you for Paris! It is such an opportunity to travel to Europe, and Rome, Paris, or some other place, it's new and exotic and EXCITING!

Camille would be so jealous. She has a piggy bank marked "Paris trip." It's her dream to go to Paris.

I would love to go too, if I could teleport there. I hate flying. It looks absolutely beautiful there.

Wow Louise,

How mean of her. I think it's great that you are going to Paris! When people act like that, I usually just shake my head and don't respond. I don't know what she is thinking; but life is to short to let her get under your skin!

So have a wonderful time and make sure you post lots of pictures!

It takes all sorts.

I'm going to Paris AND Rome. Wonder what she would suggest for me? Lol

When are you going? I can hardly wait , and my trip is not til March!!!!!
I figure its best to just ignore people like that. They are in the " can not be pleased no matter what" group. I have a friend who keeps going on and on about our trip, the fact we are going to Paris Rome and London......we should be going to smaller places to " get the feel" of the true country......I just said yes we should......we will do that next time we go. I think we are going to be a bit like a "possum in the headlights" country boy and gal off to the big city an all. But that's part if the adventure isn't it?

Don't let this naysayer be a downer....plan your trip, and get excited......heck as another friend said......a lot of the best stuff about going on a trip is the anticipation. And I do agree. B says it will be like a six month trip for me.....all the planning etc.

C'est la vie.

Have fun in Paris and don't stress over mean people like this. I guess she just is jealous. what other reason could she have, you did not ask - should I go to Paris or Rome? You know already where to go.
And I am glad you will see this beautiful City!

Don't let it stop you from sharing, Louise. She's just being a nasty bwitch.

I'm pretty small - you could pack me in your suitcase.

thanks ladies. I sometime feel petty letting things like this bother me, when people like Jen and Gwynn have real problems.

I am thinking that since Paris will only be a long weekend trip I can make a mini-album using the Prima album I won from scrapbook.com on NSD.

Check out Far and Away by Teresa Collins. Camille wants to have a Paris themed party this year for her birthday, so I've been searching for scrapbooking supplies to make her invitations.

I think Webster's Pages has a new Paris line too.

I wonder whether Echo Park's Be Mine collection is still available? That's all Eiffel Towers as well.
