French onion soup is gorgeous. Lucky you!

No, not really. I did fish with coriander and lemon in foil parcels last week but mostly we've been eating quick things. I need to get some more interesting recipes sorted out.

I did banana and chocolate chip muffins last time, so I want something different next. I'm thinking maybe pumpkin with the American spice recipe. I've never tried that.

I don't cook much. However, I made a birthday cake for my son, just for the family to eat. It was a surprise. I made it from a mix actually, so the challenge was actually hiding it around the house.

My kids said to me "Mommy, you always say you are a bad cook, but you are a good cook."

You got this thread right out of my thoughts Sarah! I was just thinking of starting one.

Today I have country pork ribs in the crock pot to be broiled later. I also have bananas in the fridge peeled and ready for a recipe. Need to figure it out soon... For side dishes we'll have thinly sliced baked potatoes with just a hint of sea salt and sprayed with a tiny bit of oil. I also have a nice salad ready to be made. For dessert we'll have fruit salad with fluff and whatever banana thing I make. We might have the banana thing with tea before bedtime.

I love fall cooking!

As long as you make the troops at home happy, count yourself among the good cooks of the world! LOL

seriously?

actually, I'm thinking of joining Blue Apron It is a little pricey, but I might try it out for a few weeks. The only problem is the recipes look hard. I need one for cooking dunces like me!

I made baked coconut shrimp last night. I changed up my recipe a little last night and like my original recipe better. lol

I didn't make a dessert since we got the ice cream goody basket from the officer's appreciation. Plenty of sweet treats to choose from. We bought some ice cream and had sundaes.

Tonight I'm making roast, green beans, sweet potatoes (for me), and herbed red potatoes. Well, unless we decide to go out. We need to decide soon though so I can start the roast.

nothing lately but tomorrow I am making spaghetti and homemade meatballs and marinara for 40+ teenagers. I am a bit nervous, as my mother in law was supposed to fly in early today, but flights are messed up and she isn't due to land until after midnight. It is her special recipe and she didn't send me the grocery list like she had planned. I just hope we have enough time tomorrow to have it all ready!!!!

Take a deep breath, call upon your inner mass cook and you'll be just fine. You might have to take pictures and show us the mess though. LOL good luck!

Good luck Marta!

I ended up not making roast. It was still to frozen, so I made shepards pie. Tonight we're taking the girls out, so I'll make the roast tomorrow. I think I'll bake some banana bread and pumpkin muffins too.

I made a banana crumb cake against my better judgement. It calls for so much butter and sugar! I reduced the sugar by one whole cup and its still super rich and buttery tasting. I'm sure people will think it's delicious but I hate butter and when things taste like it I get grossed out. Still I had a huge piece because you couldn't taste the butter so much when it was hot. Now I feel like a big fat cow.

Oh wow, I've finally met someone else who hates butter too! To me it tastes and smells like vomit. I hate handling it too - it makes my hands smell horrid. I make pastry with olive oil.

We survived!!!! My amazing mother in law and I cooked for 6 straight hours! There was plenty of food for the 42 hungry teenagers that showed up. In fact I have at least a gallon of marinara left over

But hoo boy am I whooped!!
