Yeah, I know, I should have tried this before now but I just never needed to. It's the Print and Cut function with registration marks.

My Silhouette will not detect the registration marks, whatever I try. Has anyone ever had this problem and got round it? What did you do?

I have one but no, I have never tried it. Too scared. Do you know if we can use the original one to cut the stamp medium or fabric if we have the right blade, Rosey?

I had the craft robo and I had to bring in the margins in the setup screen a half centimeter to get my machine to read the registration marks. You may have to give that a go. I think it was in the Second tab along the top and down the bottom of the drop down menu to do that change. (Hope that makes sense) That is if the silhouette uses Robo Manager as its operating system.

Kaz, I use Silhouette Studio as my cutting software.

Will keep playing. I discovered something late last night that might just fix it. I'll try later today after church.

Nora, I have never tried cutting fabric, and I don't have the stamp cutting mat. I've seen it on the sogftware menu but I don't know what it is - another thing to play with!

Ok. Sorry. One idea that may help. Have you tried putting an extra light over your silhouette. I know that some people need to give more light so their machines and detect the marks.

I've heard that people shine a torch on the rego marks too.

Well I discovered that the cutting mats I have are Letter (Old size) which is on the Advanced menu not the basic menu, and that should have made a difference, but it didn't help. I did try shining a lamp on the reg marks as well, as well as altering the angle of the paper slightly, as my printer doesn't print straight. Still no good.

The only other suggestion on the Silhouette site is to print using best quality on office paper that doesn't bleed, and test that. I think I get slight bleeding on all the cards that the printer will take. I'll try that some time.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Did you get your Silhouette to recognise the rego marks?

Not yet Kaz, but I still have to try printing on office paper in best quality and cut in good daylight. We haven't had much good daylight for weeks. My machine is also not in the brightest of places so I might experiment with moving it around the house. Or conservatory. The light is good in there. I'll update this thread when I get the chance.

Thanks for asking and for the nudge! I ended up getting a pair of scissors and cutting the dratted shapes out in about 45 seconds flat. After that I stopped getting stressed about getting the Silhouette to do it for me.
