Talk to me. Been on it? How long? Does it work? D you like it? What's your dose? Tell me everything you know about it! Doctor said I should go on it for my insomnia. I know Stephy was on it, are you still taking it?

I just started taking a multi-vitamin of Melatonin/Chamomile/Valer ian supplement about two weeks ago and it's working wonders! It's helping me get sleepy at a decent hour and it's helping me stay asleep. The numbers are

Melatonin - 200 mcg
Chamomile - 25 mg
Valerian - 75 mg

I'm not taking it anymore Viv, as I'm sleeping well without it. But swear that it helped me when I needed it. I'd have to go check the mg. If I recall, it took a couple of weeks to "build up" and it's not like a sleeping pill that made me sleep, it was more like I got consistent sleep.... If I awoke to go to the potty, I could go right back to sleep, rather than lay there awake & think think thinking.

So good to know girls! I'm going to start taking it this weekend. I'm a little scared of crazy dreams though. Will it make me sleepy during the day?

Nope, no grogginess in the morning or daytime.

And I didn't have the crazy dream reaction either.

My dh did take melatonin, but then he started taking ZMA's (of course you don't need help with your testosterone), but it also helps aid sleep. He swears by the ZMA's.

I really was hoping to go get some tonight but it didn't work out. Glad to hear all good things about it. My doctor loves it.

I saw a whole episode of Dr. Oz where he spoke of it. He had everyone in the audience who took it. Apparently people take too much. He said more than 1MG is too much. Some people were taking it and then taking more when they woke up during the night. He has a ton of articles on his web site about it if you do a search.

I have taken it for quite some time, I think it helps. I go to sleep faster and am less likely to wake up overnight. I take 2MG. There's some debate about the correct dosage. I've seen it as high as 10mg in the stores. Did your doctor suggest a dosage?

I tried it but it did not work for me. I think it is because my natural sleep cycle is to stay up late and get up late. I do that during the summer and sleep so much better. (sleeping late is 8:00 for me.)

My internal (sleep) clock would be 3am-11am.
