I am looking for a nice non glossy photo paper for printing at home. What do all the different types of finishes mean? Pearl, Satin, Semi-gloss, blah blah blah. I am not sure how to pick my paper..... help!
Ours latest is an Epson All-in-One and prints best to gloss. The expensive proper Epson paper is undoubtedly the best, no question. That shouldn't have been a surprise, but I really was amazed by the dramatic difference it made.
Our old HP loved premium gloss best too.
I have no idea about pearl or satin - I've never heard of those.
I got a Canon Pixma Pro-100. My issue with the gloss are the finger prints and glare..... from what I have read, other types of paper should work as well depending on the effect you want. I have no idea what type of "effect" I am getting if I don't even know what type of finish I am purchasing.....
