Good morning all!

I'm back, tired out and exhilarated after my weekend away at the crafting retreat. We made an advent calendar, a canvas and several cards. We got a go at trying out the Inkadinkado stamping gears system. It was OK. I wouldn't buy it. It was like playing with spirographs as a kid.

We learned how to use Ice Resin, pan pastels, heat embossing on vellum, Wink of Stella pens and brushes (REALLY sparkly), colouring with ProMarkers, the Martha Stewart Scorboard (didn't like it), the WRMK envelope punch board, distress inks and Versamark. Much of it I had done before but some was new. Two of the classes were taken by Paul Church who is on our Create and Craft TV Channel here. He was nice - they were all great. I'm so tired now!

Today the conservatory floor is being tiled. Tomorrow it's being finished. Wednesday the electrics are being connected, then it will be finished!

What's on your agenda for the day?

Rosey, that sounds like a wonderful weekend! I always think about taking some workshops to learn to play with different media and tools. I vowed to take up my scrapping again as soon as the girls go back to school. It's been so busy in my world lately that haven't even set foot in my office hardly at all.

And, I can't wait to see pictures of your conservatory!

I have a lot to accomplish today, all of which are loose ends at home. I need to do a very intense workout today too since I didn't all weekend and I ate like a big dinosaur yesterday...

Sarah, I hope you feel better.

it seems like he was just a baby yesterday. He starts grade 1 here soon... yikes!

Saturday he's having a friend birthday party. Afterwards we may take him to see his great grandmother and give her a cupcake as she can't make it to the family party.

I gotta put streamers up Friday night after he goes to bed as that's all he's been asking for.

If the movie coupons arrive in time we plan on taking him to see the Planes movie as long as it's still in the theater.

Sunday we are having a family gathering with an R2D2 birthday cake and ice cream. It should be fun for him. Then I'm on vacation the next week. Looking forward to time with him before school starts.

Mark's on his way home from work already - we're going to drive down to college town 1.5 hrs away and pick up the furniture we just delivered there yesterday

Rosey, your weekend retreat sounds awesome! How neat that you were able to make so many things and also try out & learn how to use so many products.

Sarah, feel better soon.

Busy day for me. Have already been out to water my tomatoes. Was finally able to catch up with the neighbor who lives behind us, to talk to them about the leak they have that is flooding my backyard.

Out and about things to do today are:
grocery shop
Michael's/ JoAnn's
stop at local scrapbook store for some help on a project I am planning to make for Christmas
take kitty to groomer for nail trimming

things that need to be done around the house:
hang a picture I bought over the weekend in the guest room
wash, fold/iron laundry
vacuum/mop floors
do some scrapping
research party ideas for my great niece's birthday, her mom wants me to make giraffe themed party decorations (all because she loved what I did with the owl themed baby shower)

Waiting on news from Melissa about her doctor appointment, will the baby come this week?

Going to work on finding time daily to include an hour walk to help improve my health.

Camille had a giraffe themed birthday party for her 10th. One of the things that the girls really liked were the placemats that I made (easy, no sew.) I used giraffe print felt squares from Hobby Lobby, punched holes along the side with a hole punch, and tied strips of t-shirt material through each hole in Camille's room colors (lime green and aqua.) Ribbon would work too, but I already had the material, so I just used that.

Morning!

Trying to get back into our routine a bit here. Dh was home all last week on holidays so we were in a different routine. Both grandmas were here on the weekend and my mom is still here, until tomorrow late afternoon. So far I have made potato salad for supper, started some laundry and made my mom a birthday card to give to my aunt and put Ben down for a nap. Mom is doing some work in my flowerbed now. After lunch we are going to go to Walmart and then for groceries. I have birthday party ideas on the brain too - Ben's is coming up in about a month and I want to work on some invites this weekend while at a friend's so trying to get times and such organized at least. I'm thinking sock monkey theme!

I wish I would have done a Very Hungry Caterpillar party for one of my dd's. Sock monkey would be fun too!

Debbie, I also made bookmarks for the girls. I found blank cards with a giraffe print, cut them, and then added thread and beads. The placemats and bookmarks were for her friends to take home.
