Last weekend Siegy and I booked our vacation and I am sooooooo excited! We will be going to LONDON again
We planned that for quite a while, but it did not look good for going this year. But now everything turned out fine and we decided to go the last week of August. This time it will be just the two of us, which makes me a little sad for Natascha, who I know would love to go too. But with work and her boyfriend working and searching for her own appartement she can't go.
She loves that we are going and we love it too.

So, Rosey, Georgina and Stephanie - if you have time to meet up in London with another jazzer - here we come! I would love to meet you, so when you want it too, that would be great!
It won't be as much fun talking with us, because our English is not that good - the last time we had a longer english conversation was in 2005, but we can at least speak with our hands and feet
I cannot wait to see all those beautiful places again! And see some more we did not have time two years ago.

Oh fantastic!

I've written it in my diary, and I'll try to stay with Mum one of those weekends so that I can come up to London by train. Let me know your dates and plans so that I can fit in with you? I'm afraid I have no German at all, so there will be a lot of pointing and smiling going on! I wonder whether Stephanie or G speak any German?

We loved London the last time we were there two years ago, it is such a beautiful city. We are still making plans on what to see, since we started to think over everything on friday
There is so much to see, but this time we will stay 8 nights, which will give us a lot of time.

Rosey, we both speak English a little bit, as you can see when I write here. The grammar is not the best and sometimes I am running out of vocabulary. But Siegy is good in finding other words for what I have forgotten.

It would be so nice to meet you, I hope you don't mind when Siegy is with me. I will write you a pm with our dates, it would be nice if you find time.

I would love to meet Siegy! And I think your written English is superb. I can "hear" your accent as I read it, but I never have any problems understanding you. I'm sorry Natascha won't be there too though.

I've e-mailed the link to this post to G and Steph, so I hope they come here and reply. I know G has some commitments in August, but hopefully one of those weekends will be available. Yay!

How exciting!!

I'm sure you won't have any trouble communicating Susi! Your written English "sounds" fine to me!

I hope you get to meet up with Rosey, Georgina, and Steph! How fun!

I'm getting a little jealous of all you jazzers who get to meet!

What Virginia said!

And Susi, your English is better than some people who's first and only language is English.

Thanks for all the nice words about my english! I get so nervous when I have to talk tough, because I am pretty sure our Austrian accent sounds crazy I always remember our former president Kurt Waldheim, who was president of the UN for years and when he spoke english we always had to laugh about his accent.
Siegy is talking - he does not think over it - he just talks what comes to his mind, no matter if it is right or wrong

I always felt very nervous about speaking French, in case I made a terrible mistake. Nobody else was worried. But I think that's the best way to do it, Siegy's way. And the more you speak, the more you learn.

To me, hearing a language spoken with a foreign accent is charming, and I appreciate the effort taken to learn another language.

Me too, and I'm not even travelling!

What else are you going to see? What have you seen already in London? Have you travelled outside the city and seen any of the beautiful countryside?

We won't leave London I guess, because we are too afraid to drive a car on the wrong side of the road .
We are definitely doing one of those sightseeing bus tours again ,because you see the most important sights all at once. Also the river cruise to Greenwhich. And we want to go to the 0 meridian this time.
The London Eye will be another must do and maybe the Tower of London.
Since Siegy loves Harry Potter, I was thinking about the Studios where they have this Harry Potter tour, but I have to read more about it. We want to see Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guard. We missed that last time, we slept too long.
And we want so much to see one of those guards:

We looked everywhere last time and did not find any. Siegy's friend, who was in London for only 2 days saw them everywhere. They are something typical for London for us and we thought they would at least be at Buckingham Palace.

There are so many more places we would like to see, but we have to plan some more before I know it for sure.

I am jealous.

And Susi, I totally envy that you are fluent in a second language.
You need to do a video for us so we can hear your accent.

I am so excited for you Susi!! I want to come with you!!

Your English is excellent. I LOVE listening to people's accents when they speak English-it is enchanting to me. American accents aren't so enchanting, though. (even mine)

Maybe we can do a short one all together when we meet up Susi, and give the girls something to giggle at with all our accents. If Stephanie and Georgina are there, we'll have a huge variety as G is pure Surrey/South London, and Steph is South African. I'm just a mongrel.
