I've been pinning card ideas on pinterest that look like they would be simple to make. The problem I have is, I have no stamps for the words you usually see on the front of the card -- such as -- Happy Birthday.

I think I am going to concentrate on purchasing some simple ones that I could use over and over again. What words would you suggest??

ie:

Happy Birthday
Celebrate
Merry Christmas

Happy Anniversary

I think birthday and anniversary stamps are the ones I use the most, so I'm always on the lookout for stamps with different fonts and sizes of them...

Better yet, get a package with of acrylic stamps that have a lot of sentiments and a clear block (you get get the blocks for $1 at Michael's, J's or AC Moore)

Here is a cute pack:
So Much to Say

Hero Arts Say it All

Grand Greetings

Acrylic block package

I tend to buy the sentiments in bulk in the packages because then I can mix and match if I need to!!

All/any of those, plus one that I use ALL THE TIME on the fronts of cards: "Just to say..."

Then I can make the card blank, and add a sentiment inside when I go to use it, or just write inside.

The only occasion that doesn't work with is Christmas.

Just to say... Hi
Just to say... Happy birthday
Just to say... thank you
Just to say... with sympathy
Just to say... congratulations
Just to say... thinking of you

Perfect for when DH wakes me up to say goodbye in the morning and says "oh yes, have you got a card for one of my colleagues?" I just say "go look in the box"

I haven't found a single sympathy stamp inexpensive that I like. (and I don't want a whole set) I ended up just printing out several with a nice font on the computer and just cut them apart in little blocks.

Great idea Rosey! I have a bunch of cards to make for the next couple of months. I could totally do this for upcoming months when I don't have time to make a quick card.

Also a great idea! Who needs stamps when you have a computer and a printer!!

Stamps of Life has several sets, too. I agree a few diverse sets are good to have on hand.
