Does anyone besides me get tired and burned-out with all the scrapbooking "process" videos? I've actually stopped watching a few series because it just seems like the same thing over and over again. "Add some pen stitching," "add a photo corner," "splatter some ink," "layer these die-cuts," blah, blah, blah. And so many of them are using the same brands over and over again, when there are so many other great products on the market. Plus there is so much "stuff" on the page that I sometimes have to search for the photos. I know that most designers are trying to sell product, but it's just too much for me lately.

I much prefer technique-based videos, or even "how-to" printable directions. And why do people buy things they don't know how to use and then need tutorials for them?

OK. Rant over. I guess I'm a little cranky today.

The process videos are entirely new to me. I do not watch them all the time, but when I want some crafty inspiration and something to keep me company at the craft table, I watch them. Sometimes I learn some new things, sometimes I get my own ideas.

Do you mean the product videos on this store and sb.com? Or something else? I watch those occasionally.

I tell you what winds me up though. When I want to know what a specific product is for, and I search for it, and find a video, and have to watch my way through 9 minutes of something else and they only mention the product I'm interested in, in passing. I think these keywords are over-rated.

No, the product videos can be very helpful. In fact, I like those. I mean the start-to-finish scrapbook pages that detail every. single. step. I know that most people like them, and have even become "groupies" of a sort for some designers. I just don't get the adoration or strong appeal about these videos, but I know I'm in the minority.

I agree about the products.

I've never watched one of those start-to-finish videos. I didn't even know they existed. I need to go and look, although my gut reaction is that I'll agree with you. I know how to glue and ink stuff.

I get impatient watching people finish things off too, I'm sitting there thinking OK I've got the idea, now let's fast-forward to the next new bit.

I watched the washi tape video on sb.com for NSD. It was 40 minutes long, and it showcased a load of different techniques - 9 or 11 - lots, and they were hugely inspiring. But once I'd seen how to stick a piece of tape down and then line the next piece up against it, I didn't need to see all the other pieces in real time. Ditto the bunting. When you've seen 2 flags placed, the next thing you need to see is the finished string, not the other 5 being done as well.

Another moan about videos is that I wish the first 10 seconds of every video (and therefore the title thumbnail of the video) showed a picture of the finished article. Then I could decide whether I wanted to spend the bandwidth or the time watching them.

Yeah, don't get it.

What's really annoying when some people do scrap videos whether it's for product or technique or whatever, they blabber on too d@mn much! Get right to the freakin' point of the video!

I don't watch very often.

The videos that come to my mind are all those that I've watched about mini albums. They spend half the time talking about ALL the embellies on the cover of the mini, and who manufactures each one, and at times, they even stop to show the package it came in!

Please, just get through the album so I can see what the rest looks like.....

There are a few I enjoy watching, but they do tend to use the same products.

I have never watched a process video before. I guess I am not missing much. I guess I haven't looked because MY process works for me. Isn't that how everyone is?

I usually don't want to sacrifice the time to watch as video,. the few I have watched have bored me. Seems like many of us feel similar, but there are so many of those videos, someone must watch them.

I am in the minority.

I LOVE them.

I tune in to designers I like regularly. Love the videos by Wilna Furstenberg, and Lilith Eeckels, and Mercy Tiara.

They all fast forward their video so it's only ten mins or so. And just explain what they are doing at the time. Have picked up some really good tips from them . Others I can not be bothered looking at....but these ones are good.

Lots of videos on the two peas sites I like.

I have been scrapping for a long time, and consider myself to be an advanced scrapper........
