Anyone have any fun techniques they have tried lately and want to share? I am looking for something to shake up my layouts a bit.

No new techniques! But I do need to catch up on challenges, and those provide enough techniques for now.

If you find some new techniques, please share!

I just used cork "paper" to die-cut a title for an art journaling page.

I'm still enjoying the negative die-cuts that we did for NSD! I'm planning on making a bunch of cards with the alphabet on them with a heart around the HI.

Other than that, I got some Dylusions spray in white. I can't wait to try that out. I saw a video where they sprayed it on acetate and it dried without rubbing off. I want to try that.

They're fun! I'm going to have to buy more. I have 3 mists and 2 gelato colors.

I have mists but not gelatos. How are they different?

The gelatos are like oil pastels, only they are water-based. They are basically creamy sticks that you an use to create watercolor effects, and the intensity is pretty easy to control. They are very blendable.

Oh I see! Sorry, I was thinking that they were a new kind of spray that I didn't have.

Faber-Castell.

My mother and I played with them tonight, and we made some lovely backgrounds. She bought the 24-Gelato Set , and I have those plus the new Tropical set.

They're a little bit addictive.

Those look cool but are EXPENSIVE!! Not sure I could justify that right now. Are they the same as watercolor crayons? I have those already.

I got mine on clearance at JoAnne's, silver/gold pack. I figured that way if I didn't like them I wasn't wasting much on them. I really like them though. They're so easy to use.

It's like rubbing chapstick on your lo. You can blend it with water or just leave it however you rub it on.

I don't have watercolor crayons, so I'm not sure if they are the same.

They're a lot smoother than watercolor crayons, and the Gelatos can be blended dry as well as wet. Faber-Castell also packages them as children's gel sticks, and they are exactly the same product at about 1/2 the price.

I looked for them at Hobby Lobby, but didn't see them in the scrapbooking section. Now I'm wondering if I should have looked in the art/paint section.

I've been wanting to learn/try modeling paste but I am too chicken. Basically you used it to mix it with colors or mists & apply it to mask for add texture. I need to find a tutorial to see if it's something I am willing to try.
