Helloooooo!

Well the only photo I've taken today is of my secret Scrap Whispers LO, so no ya can't see that!

But here's a deer's bottom for you. I wanted to go outside and get the recycling bags in but I didn't want to disturb her. She was weeding my front yard.

We had some interesting weather yesterday too. The rain that came out of that evening sky gave us a bizarre double rainbow that looked as if the two were at different angles. I've never seen that before. It disappeared before I could eject my SD card out of the laptop and put it back in the camera unfortunately. Isn't that dramatic though?

Jinx! Almost.

Spooky. We're having ours done too, around the end of June.

I like that covered area outside. Are you keeping that? I wish we could do something like that too.

No the covered area is going - the new conservatory is going all the way across so will be bigger, but I'm turning a section of it into a pantry without glass of course!

Wow!! I hate to ask this but what do you use a conservatory for? Is it like a mud room?

When ours is rebuilt, it will be like a mud room, with shoe storage and space to dry umbrellas and coats. Many people have wicker furniture in them and use them as a summer lounge. Bear in mind that we don't get a lot of sun here, so every last drop is treasured.

Ours was pretty much just a greenhouse, although it had a label on the door saying "conservatory". It is a glass and perspex lean-to on the south side of the house so it gets lovely and warm in the sun. Because it isn't secure or water-tight, weeds grow through the tiles and slow-worms warm themselves under the doormat, I've been using it for drying the washing under cover, the shoe rack is in there, and sundry boxes and bits and pieces.

Sherri, the council collects green waste (grass cuttings, hedge clippings etc.) in green bags, kitchen scraps in a brown plastic box, as well as bottles, plastic, cardboard, paper, tins and other things. So the boxes and bags live in the conservatory as well. Once it's rebuilt, I'll have to find another home for those though.

Will the floor be air tight Rosey when it is rebuilt so that you won't get weeds or worms? That sounds like what we call a sunroom in the US.

Yes it will be - like an extension to the house except for having glass walls and a polycarbonate roof. A sunroom? I'll remember that. Here they are called conservatories.
