I like having page kits to go to crops. Buuuuuttttt, what do you do with that mess when you get back home? Most of my giant baggies have the sad remains of a collection pack, half a package of embellishments, etc. I hate dealing with that.

What do you do with that stuff? I have so many things in this state right now it drives me nuts! It's too much to throw away, not very valuable to donate, and taking up precious space in my scrapbook room. And I just don't find myself using it up.

I wish it didn't cost so darn much to mail 12x12 stuff, I can envision a cool challenge, LOL!

How about recreating kits based on what you have left? Or doing "use it up" challenges in which you create layouts with the purpose of using up what has already been cut?

Use it up!

I have a concertina file sorted by colour for all my scraps, and I make all my cards from that. I have a rule never to cut into a fresh 12x12 sheet to make a card - unless it's a challenge or a commissioned project.

My embellishments are all stored by item too, so my leftover kit-bag would be separated back into brads, ribbons, charms etc.

I sort the scraps to be used for cards or embellishments. The brads and other embellishments go (back) into containers, where they're sorted by color.

I sort my scraps by color and then put the embellies back where I got them from, also by color or by company.

I sort scraps too and then sort embellies by type.

I "graciously" pass them along to someone across the table from me.

Factually I love collection packs and I have "used up" two of them. Basic Grey Periphery and Authentique Genuine.

If there is 3 or more large scraps from a collection it stays in it's collection bag with whatever else is still hanging on or if there are a lot of embellishments they might stay in the bag without any paper at all (Hello Basic Grey Boxer, I see you and your pile of fibers, rub-ons, chip board and brads... you will find a project eventually)

When the paper is gone generally the embellishments get broken up. Brads and flowers by color where brads and flowers go. Alphas by size where alphas go. Stickers and chipboard in the giant drawer of no return.

When I encounter a newbie or even someone whose been doing it awhile but with cheaper supplies... I run over to the place where collections are stored and the giant drawer of no return and give, give, give. Always telling them they can toss them if it's not their thing but believing nothing has been wasted.

BTW.... any newbies in the WV, PA, OH border area... I need to make room

Can I come and sit across the table from you?
