In the past 2 weeks, I have been getting dizzy. One day I had to be driven home from work because I almost passed out. My co-workers said they saw the blood literally drain from my face. Went to the MD, had tons of blood work, nothing. Said my glands were swollen-might be getting sick. I stayed home one day and slept-the illness never materialized.

It happened again today. Just sitting there and I started to see stars. I didn't tell anyone because I wanted to be able to drive myself home. (I live 2 minutes from work-irresponsible but I know but I knew I was ok to do so.) I have been dizzy on and off all day. It is driving me crazy!!

Did they mention Vertigo? I just recently got over viral vertigo. It took a few weeks.

I was concerned that it could be my BP or blood sugar, so I went to see the Dr too.

No ear problems Carrie and my blood pressure is usually really low and usually effects me when I get up to fast. Unfortunately the dizziness comes and goes, sometimes even when I am sitting!!

I had my blood checked and nothing. I need to call the MD again today and make an appointment to go back in. Other things going on with my eye now too-floaters and eye pain, as well as pain that has been there above my left hip, on my side for a few weeks. Just feel like a hypochondriac going in for these various symptoms. Probably just anxiety!!

Go in and get checked. If you doctor doesn't take you seriously, go to a different one.

If nothing else, ask for a stress test and a full blood workup.

While your symptoms could be any number of things, some of those possibilities are stroke, aneurism, blood clot, etc.

It is better not to take the chance if this is a new occurrence.

I agree with Amy.

A couple years ago, I think I saw my Dr. every month for 4 or 5 months. Weird, out of the ordinary, things kept popping up. She had an explanation for everything, but I'm sure she just chalked it up to anxiety. While I'm not an anxious person, these type of things can cause anxiety. I still deal with these same things from time to time, but I try not to let them bother me now that I know what they are.

Sometimes we feel silly complaining about these things over and over, but better to get it checked out than to regret it later....

How miserable.

If your glands are swollen, it means your body is fighting off an infection of some kind. And so far, it is doing it pretty successfully. That could also be left over from the mono though, even months/years later.

How much fluid are you drinking each day? Dehydration can cause dizziness, and if you are fighting something off, you'll need extra fluid to flush the infection out.

I did go back to the MD on Thursday. Work was great because I left, came back and then left to go to a retina specialist that my MD wanted me to see.

So far nothing. I don't think the eye thing and the dizziness are related. The retina guy was so nice-even though they plugged me in and were overbooked-I felt bad. Apparently two lashes were stuck to my cornea in the corner where I had the most pain. I didn't see them when I checked. I couldn't even stand him to touch me there when he was trying to look!! He plucked them out and gave me some stuff for my eye. He said my retinas look great!! I don't have the floater right now-it comes and goes so who knows what that means!

I am waiting to hear back from the MD because she wants me to have an MRI done. The Eye guy told me I should have an MRI done too. I am also going to go see an Ear, Nose and Throat guy who specializes in Vertigo. The hip pain is still there but my MD thinks it is muscular rather then anything else. The hypochondriac in me is thinking these symptoms are something that I really don't want to have that my Uncle has though I am trying not to even think about it. (and not writing it because it is so silly!)

Say some prayers that my insurance lets me have this test done! I know they are so finicky about things like this these days.

NORA!!! This has been my life for two months! I have no idea what is going on! I keep getting dizzy and have been having headaches. I tried to think, could it be when I haven't eaten, or after I have, or when I am doing something. It can happen any time. Nothings seems to trigger it. I had full blood work done two weeks ago and everything came back perfect. My BP was 120/80, so also perfect. I had an MRI last Tuesday and it came back perfect. Yesterday I went to the eye dr and my eyes were fine. I have no idea what it is. I am like you and many times when I am dizzy I don't tell. I didn't want Donald worried, even if I was worried. I was so worried they would find a tumor or something in my brain, because of the way I felt. So thankful there was not...and I hate not knowing what is going on. They did give me a prescription for vertigo meds and migrane meds, that I won't be able to get to the store and fill until tomorrow night. I really don't think it is vertigo...but I guess I am not a dr.

Did they send you to an Ear, Nose and Throat MD? That is where I am to next. I had another episode yesterday and it ticked me off because it was a beautiful day and I wanted to go for a walk. I think Chris thinks I am joking when it happens but I can actually see stars sometimes. It freaks me out!!

I think it is all going to wind up being diagnosed as vertigo. My MD also said it could be a form of a migraine-which sounds weird. I also have been getting headaches but around my right eye, which is weird. I guess we will have to join a club when this is all over!!

I hope it isn't migraine, for your sakes. They are evil, evil. But one-sided headaches are very migraine-ish.

DH's Nan had vertigo and we used to watch her eyes going round and round, but she never went pale with it. Your attacks sound more like faints Nora. How long do they last?

I felt faint with my vertigo. At my worst I had to sit on the floor with my head between my legs so I wouldn't pass out. A lot of people experience vomiting and diarrhea with vertigo too. I'm glad I didn't.

Have you had your hormone levels checked? Could it be perimenopause?

I have had EVERYTHING checked, Jen, and I have to call the MD back tomorrow to check on the status of the MRI. I do sometimes feel sick when they happen, just not every time. And I do have to sit down.

Rosey-I do have migraines. I just don't get them a lot. I also tend to get them at the back of my head, more near the bottom near my neck. The localized eye headache is new.
