Rosey, you mentioned ironing the past couple of days.

What all do you iron?

and a ? for everyone.... how often do you iron?

I'd say I might iron a shirt, skirt or slacks just a couple of times a year.

I only iron dress shirts/slacks and skirts and I only iron them just before we are about to wear them.

The last time I ironed anything was a tablecloth last year for Easter.

It would be easier to say what I don't iron. Bear in mind that I line dry, and in the winter that means inside the house. Creases don't come out as they do with tumble-dryers.

I don't iron underwear, socks, towels and bedding, woollens/fleeces.

My bugbears are DH's work shirts, because he wears proper suit shirts to work now so I have to keep them perfect.

I am so thankful that hubby gets reimbursed for dry cleaning expenses - otherwise I would be ironing his work shirts/pants

No dry-cleaning reimbursement here. It costs £14 every month for DH's suit trousers which are dry-clean-only. Thankfully he also has 2 pairs of washable trousers as well.

I iron as well! Usually DHs shirts and ....jeans! Yes, I iron jeans!! I won't put any clothes into the dryer, they all get hung up. Ironing jeans softens them up a bit. I don't iron my jeans since they all have spandex in them now.

Funny story, the reason I iron....

When we were first married, we lived in a basement apartment, no washer or dryer. We had to go to the laundromat. We would load up our laundry in baskets, take to the laundromat, wash and dry everything, and then lug it back home, stuffed back in the baskets. From there, they just sort of stayed there til I got around to putting it all away. DH had a job where he had to wear work uniforms. One day, before he went to work, he stopped to see his dad. The first thing his dad asked is if I owned an iron because his uniform was so wrinkled. Was I ever embarrassed, knowing how particular his mom was about clothes!! And yes, she ironed everything under the sun, or so it seemed! From that day on, you can not imagine all the things I would iron, just so DH looked neat!

Obviously, through the years, I started ironing less, but yes, I do still iron!

It's one of those things that you use to flatten ribbon for your LOs.

I have never ironed anything in my life. DH will iron his dress shirts and/or pants if they need it. He was an air cadet so he is good with the iron from having to keep his uniform pressed. We have a steamer too so if I really need to get the wrinkles out of something I either steam it or make DH iron it!

Anything that needs to be ironed goes to the cleaners. Greg sends a few suits, a few pants and five or more shirts per week to the cleaners. He is really into looking perfectly pressed, not a hair out of place.
