I must be late to the party cause I just saw this a week or so ago on the cricut site. Is it any good? Can anyone tell me more about it?

I use it with my Mini. It's like Design Studio, but better. It could still use some improvements, but I like it.

Is it free though? I downloaded it but haven't tried it yet. My computer and cricket aren't near each other. Just haven't had time to get them together lol

Yes, it's free. You also get a free font and basic shapes.

I'm not sure if it's Mac compatible. You can check out the system requirements at Cricut Craft Room

I am a bit confused by it - can you somehow tell it what cartridges you own? Or can you only use the free ones they give you and ones you 'buy' there?

Amanda, I haven't had the opportunity to give it a try yet......but I assume you plug the Cricut machine and computer together (like design studio) and work from there with your own cartridges!

You can design with any cartridges you want, but you can cut with only the ones you own, or with the free images on the site. You can link your cartridges to CCR or insert them into your machine. The frustrating thing is that, if you have already linked your cartridge to a Gypsy, you can't link it to CCR. You have to put the cartridge into your machine. PC says they are "working" on fixing this issue, but they still haven't fixed it.

I think for all Virginia. When I installed the program it had you click on which machine you had.

I might have to give this a try. I don't have my Cricut next to my computer, and I'm assuming I have to purchase a cord/cable to hook it up to my computer.
Can you tell I'm technologically challenged??

I was trying to think if one came with my cricut or not. I got it so long ago.I'll have to check my drawer of random cords! Mine isn't right next to the computer either but I do have some room I could put it on my next...well if I move some stuff!

Interesting..... It says that you can link digital downloads from CCR to your Gypsy...... at least on their forum....
