I have been doing the Great Destash of 2013, and have been debating if I should or should not purge my stamps..... do any of you ever purge your stamps? If you do, how do you do it?

When I need to purge my scrapbook supplies, which does sometimes include stamps I know I won't use again, I bring them to my local independent scrapbook store. They collect scrapbooking stuff, anything from paper to tools, and pass them on to Mooseheart, which is a residential home for children and teens in need that's located close to our suburb. Might be worth looking into to see if any of the scrapbooking stores in your area do something like this, or if there is a facility or even a school that might just love to have the stuff you're getting rid of.

I have only gotten rid of very few. Ones I hadn't bought and then just a few clear stamps when I was in a recycle RAK that I had doubles of. Which I had intended at the time (they were leaves) and later decided I didn't really need to keep both. And I think a few snowflakes from a dollar stamp set because I had plenty of those.

I have gotten rid of some of the first stamps I ever bought, but I tend to hoard them. Not sure why, some are getting outdated......

I only got rid of some old ones that did not work. I love stamps, but I hoard them more than I use them. But I love them!

I have a boatload of stamps upstairs that I purged when I moved my room downstairs. I don't know where to give them to and don't want to give them to goodwill. Might put them in a tag sale but not sure. I have sent some to people but many are out of date and not sure who would want them anymore.

why would someone care if they're out of date? I wouldn't if I liked it.

Yup, ^^ that. I love my stamps, I love other people's, and even if I wouldn't have thought I could use them, I love the challenge of trying.

One of the LSS is having a used stamp sale I am going through things to put in the sale. But Nora, I bet you would be able to sell them, people always love new things even if they were well loved before. I'm just having a hard time of figuring out where to begin the sorting and deciding process......

GASP! Someone call 9-1-1, I think I'm having a heart attack. Nope, I definitely don't purge my stamps, and I have mostly all wood-mounted ones which take up tons of space. Instead, I'm always looking for more to buy!

I have yet to purge, but I will be honest, there are stamps/stamp sets that I purchased and have never used and my taste has now changed OR have used and don't use anymore.... but I am still THINKING of purging........ no action, and probably not for a bit......
