I was set to go to my friend Reba's this weekend (in Bowling Green, KY) I've never been.... though she's visited me numerous times over the past few years. Mark is working overtime; she and I were so looking forward to a fun girls weekend!
Then my nephew (who is a student / hockey player at Purdue) just sent me this message: " Hi aunt tess! Would you be willing to drop the puck for my purdue hockey breast cancer awareness game this Saturday in Kankakee, il?"
well..your nephew's event would seem more important!!! what an honor he asked!! you can visit reba any other time..but how often does a hockey breast cancer awareness game come around?
“The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.”
yes - I asked my nephew at Christmas, to get me a pink jersey from last years event (didn't realize this one was upcoming) so maybe I'll get one this weekend.
He messaged me this morning & said the newspaper is interviewing him about us.... and is there anything I'd like to contribute? Wow!
I offered Rosey, but she's missed work already this week (due to illness) and it's up near Chicago; too far to travel for just Sat/Sunday. She's disappointed (as am I ) but she's understanding and supportive
