such as Scotch quick dry...

The price keeps going up and it's getting really expensive. Of course, I always bought it with a coupon but I don't want to pay that much for glue! It's up to $7.49 at Michaels.

I found Aleene's acid free tacky glue in the adhesive section. Same size for $4.49. I'm going to give that a try. I'm not finished my Scotch yet so it might be a little while before I can try it and have an opinion.

I have the scotch right now too - I have had it for an eternity as I don't use the liquid very much. I used to use it for buttons but now I use zots. What do you usually use the liquid for?

Paper to paper. So I use the liquid glue all the time.
I use photo tabs for my pictures.

Love the Scotch Quick Dry!! I do try to buy it at HL with the 40% coupon. Right now, think I'm pretty well stocked up.

I use it mainly for making mini albums. It's what I use to glue the paper to chipboard. And I love making minis!!!

I generally Scotch when making minis as well. But it has gotten rather pricey and I have also considered switching. Tam, let us know how you like it!

We can get Scotch Quick Dry here and also Alene's, but not in the acid-free version. I saw a tutorial once about how to use Alene's to make your own glue dots, and I've been looking out for it ever since because I use a lot of glue dots.

A bottle of Quick Dry lasts me a long time, so it's still my go-to liquid adhesive. There is also an acid-free glue called SoBo, and it's about 3 or 4 dollars for a bottle that's the size of the tacky glue. It's used in book making and binding, so it doesn't warp the paper. I think they sell it in the larger craft stores, but I used to buy it in Kate's Paperie when I worked there.

Sharon, do you find that the Multi warps your paper? I had tried the one in the blue bottle years ago, and it warped my paper. I heard that the glue in the green bottle is very good.

I've heard people say the scotch doesn't warp paper. I don't know what they're doing because it warps mine.

It does warp, on the papers that are super thin, like the 180 sheet DCWV stacks - you know thinner than computer paper.....

definitely more likely on that. And I have a lot of cheap paper (not just DCWV but old PC slab paper) But it also warped on my Miss Saigon layout. WHich was cardstock on shimmer cardstock. I had to stick my layout down on a cricut mat to take the picture so it would lay flatter.

I use Best Glue Ever by ScraPerfect for adhering everything. It is acid free and fast curing, plus you only need a tiny amount. You can use it to create custom sized clear glue spots on release paper.
I used to use Scotch Quick Dry and I find that Best Glue Ever is just as fast if not more so. A quick tip for Aleene's Tacky Glue - if it gets gluggy and slow (and it will after a while) you can put it in the microwave for 10 seconds and it will soften. Best Glue Ever needs no such attention - it will stay exactly as viscous as it started in the bottle.

Deb, if you can find it that cheap, that would be the time to stock up!!

I just opened a new bottle of Scotch Quick Dry, one I bought at HL awhile back, it was $5.99. I bought a bottle not long ago at HL (using my 40% coupon), but the price on the bottle is now $6.99. So, it did go up in price!!

I hardly ever use liquid adhesive. The bottle that I bought in Singapore (must have been over 3 years ago 'cos we left in 2010), I've just broken the nozzle off. The plastic had gone all brittle, the glue was still good. WAS still good. I stuck a piece of plastic over the top but who knows how long it will last. I need to find an empty bottle to decant it into.

Virginia - but was size is the bottle?

The one at Michaels is 4 oz and is $7.49 now. The one at Hobby Lobby (that I saw) is 2 oz and $5.99.

I rarely go to Hobby Lobby because we just rarely go down that way anymore. It's half an hour from me.

Tam, I would say your 4oz bottle is a good deal! Mine is 2oz, so I think $6.99 is high priced!! Only buy with a 40% coupon!!

BTW, the closest HL to me is 90 miles, so I don't get there very often. That's why I always buy one when I do get there.
