Those clear packages that stickers, chipboard letters, etc. come in, do you throw them out?? Is there anything they can be used for?? I mean, scrapwise....

I save some of them in case I'm mailing out any bits and bobs for RAKs. So they come in handy for that. But not for LO's or cards. If I wanted a window for a card, I have the backing saved from some clear stamps. I saved quite a few from dollar stamps.

I've saved some of those backings from stamps too. Thought they would be good for transparencies, stamped with StazOn ink.

Good idea about saving those clear bags for sending odds and ends for RAKs!!

The same. If they haven't any labels or holes or creases, I keep them "just in case". When I get a box full I weed them out and throw them away. Unfortunately our recycling won't take them.

I will include them into mini albums to create a junk journal feel to it. Also, the thicker plastic sheets that come with stamps and such can be cut with dies and used as a clear acetate sheet in a mini album. I think I wrote about this last year for earth day!

Haha, there are a couple ways of doing this:

1. You can use it as a pocket to hold a fold out or mini within a mini.
2. Cut the packaging down to a flat sheet and then run through your die cutter with the desired shape - you would be creating a thin acetate sheet basically. From here you can make an entire mini out of the clear sheets, or a single sheet within a mini album.
3. Use the whole packaging as the basis of a shaker box.
4. Cut down the packaging into different photo sizes and use for planning out your layouts.

That is what I can think of...

I use them to make shaker boxes!! They are easy to cut with a die cut or a circle punch.

Thanks Gwynn! Good ideas! I like the idea of using it as a pocket for another mini. Just hate throwing those out without at least trying to recycle them somehow...

Oh yes, I forgot that. I use plastic packaging as a palette for my Copic markers. You can draw colour onto it, then pick up just a little using the colourless blender pen for shading.

And I put self-adhesive alphas on it when I want to position them on the page, because you can see through it and still move them around.

I also stick the alphas to packaging when I want to colour/paint or Stickles them. It doesn't matter if the packaging gets messy, and I can peel them off easily once they're dry.

I cut shapes or letters with my die cut machines. When I have too many to store, I recycle them.
