Do you agree that afternoon tea seems to be making a comeback or is this just an English thing?

Tea has always been more valued in the "old west" than I think in the US, but I can say that many of the things that were things grandparents did are coming back. Many of my friends have ousted cellphones from their children, have chosen not to purcahse gaming consoles and send their children outside for games of flashlight tag and kick the can. there is a strange return to nostalgia and sentiment for some odd reason. Maybe we all know that our society has gotten a little off balance?

Maybe meeting up at the coffee shop is the modern equivalent? It's the same thing, after all.

I think it's something American women like to do to slow down, it's just that not many of us have the chance.

My bridal shower was afternoon tea at a fancy hotel in New York City. My sister and I have gone back there for tea since, but not recently since she moved to California.

There is a place in my town for tea, and they've been in business a long time so I guess it's good, but since I work during the day and have boys who keep us busy on the weekends, when would I go? It's on my todo list.

'afternoon tea' was never an American thing. Drinking tea, yes, but a daily 'teatime' I don't think so.

I do make tea pretty much daily now and my daughter makes a traveling mug of tea and takes it with her to school to drink in the morning.
