Nice room, Rosey!
I think people would want to see a 'normal' house when they go looking. They can always change things up on their own if they want to. There are a lot of people who can't see past what's already there to what they could do with it, so I think if they see a study they're not seeing a dining room. And maybe they don't need a study, so that's a turn off. KWIM?

Thank you. I love it, especially the colour and the view out of the window.
I meant that people want to see a dining room but they actually use it for other things. Then when they sell, they are advised to turn it back into a dining room again to showcase it for the sale. Then the next owners think "good it's got a dining room" and buy it - then THEY use it for something else.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was saying.
They want to see a dining room even if they themselves change it later. Sometimes they don't see the dining room if it's not shown as one.

Yes we have one.
No we dont eat at it every day....we used to, when both the boys were home, and always when we had all 4 at home.
I keep a cover on it all the time...pity really since the grain is so lovely.I dont keep any decoration on it....usually its piled with newspapers etc, as thats where DH reads his paper while eating his brekky!

here are our two tables. Every Sat./Sun. morning is spent at the dining room table with coffee, computer & newspapers. We occasionally eat dinner in there when it's just the two of us.... but more often than not, we eat at this tall table in the tv/pool table room.

Your dining room is pretty. It looks very spring'ish. Is that green or yellow on the walls?
Here is my current tablescape..

Oh that's a lovely restful wall colour Jen. Those sweets wouldn't stay long in our place though - even though I don't like them much.
My walls are called Spring Green I think. It's a yellowy kind of green. I love it because when the sun is shining outside, the light looks the same colour as inside. MIL is not a fan, but DH and I like it so too bad!

I love green, but I actually want to go with a lighter shade in our dining room. I just haven't repainted it yet. My dh will flip since I painted not to long ago.
