And I say this in a very affectionate way-no criticizing in my tone what so ever. He and his friends at work bought weather stations so they can all post weather updates/wind updates etc... with each other. I think that is too funny because this is NOT what I would be updating my friends on!!

My DH is one too! 
He has had one of those for the past couple of years. He placed the outside part of it on top of my kids play structure to get the best results.
He constantly compares what the weatherman reports to what his weather station says and he shares it with his friends too!

Yeah, and his other hobby is rock tumbling; he says at least I'm not a sports widow. 
But he does the rocks 7 days a week. Do you know how weird it is, when you get a box of rocks mailed to your house?

I love nerds. They hold quite an attraction for me (along with long-haired leather-clad bikers - why IS that? ) There was a kid (22? 23?) at church in Oz who was a geologist and amateur archaeologist. He had a beard, always wore a button down shirt and was really quite delightfully anal - and completely fascinating. There's nothing quite like an enthusiast.
My DH and his best friend can talk salesmen into the ground over hi-fi cables and set-up.  Yup, another nerd.

That is Chris to a T, Steph!! He is an engineer too (as is all the friends he is doing this with!!) He spent 3 HOURS on the darn web for the weather thing last night. I just could not think that this would be that interesting!! (It isn't like scrapping or anything!!! That is way more exciting. At least there is something to look at when all is said and done!!  )
