I'm geting the itch to do something different, but I can't do a fun color until after school is out. Right now it's shoulder length. Here's a picture (and the cute dress I got, but the pic doesn't do the dress justice)

I'm thinking a pixie-type cut like this: http://www.allure.com/hair-ideas/2012/hairc uts-hea...
Maybe a little more like Anne Hathaway's http://media4.onsugar.com/files/2012/12/49/4/49 8/4... (on the left)

I'd do a color like what I have now, maybe a little more copper.
I'm just a bit nervous since it's quite a cut.

On another note, my face is heart-shaped, no? Looking at the little charts, I think it is.

pixie cut?
yes
no

I am horrible at face shapes, but I vote yes and love the first style (the sleek crop) for you! What about a few darker (copper) streaks around the crown instead of changing the whole colour?

I think you'd look adorable with a pixie cut, either of those. My only question is do you want to cut it now while it's still cold, or wait till it's warmer? Having just got home from church where it was perishing despite the heaters, I was very glad to be able to take the band out of my long hair and spread it out to keep me warm!

As for colour, I think that a person's skin tone best suits their natural hair colour whatever it is, so my vote would be to have it as natural as you can.

I voted no because I'm generally not a fan of short/pixie cuts. You might be able to pull it off. I know I'd look horrid with one.

Your face is not heart shaped, it's oval.

ETA: as far as I can tell in this pic. When I think 'hear shaped' I think of wider jawlines and rather pointy chins like Reese Witherspoon. Jennifer Love Hewitt has a fairly long/pointy chin, too.

I forgot to say, I can never work out face shapes. I've played around with lots of websites which reckon they can work out a face shape and they just don't agree with each other. Some celebrities are listed on several site as having completely different face shapes, like Reese Witherspoon (square, heart, long) and Demi Moore (round, long, oval, heart). Also, they don't take into account that the shape changes when you smile.

I think it is so subjective that it's hardly worth bothering with. Go with what suits YOU, don't follow the "rules".

Demi Moore - I think in some pics she can look sort of heart shaped, but I think she's really a square. She has a very square jawline. I don't think her chin comes down enough in a point to really make her heart shaped.
I think Reese's jawline is square but her chin is much too pointy to not call her face heart shaped.

Exactly, and when RW smiles she can only be called heart-shaped, despite the jaw. DM is square until she smiles then it gets tricky.

Haven't you had your hair short before? I'm thinking you did and it was really cute. Maybe I'm wrong about it being short though.

I think it would look nice, so I vote yes.

I haven't gone that short since I was pregnant with Jenna and it was a completely different style. Thanks everyone.

I think that it would look cute. You have an oval face shape which is very versatile.

HOWEVER - cutting my hair that short last year was one of my biggest regrets. I think that it technically looked nice but I felt as though I lost a big chunk of my femininity. I've been growing it since, it has finally hit my shoulders, and I couldn't be happier.

Didn't you post asking about the hair cut before you did it Carey? Cause I think I voted no, then, too.

I LOVED having my short hair at it's shortest
so easy to care for, quick to wash, dry, style... nothing for my baby to grab and rip out of my head ( )
- the growing it back out part was the hardest - I am constantly temped to whack it all off again for that shortest look... but no....

anyway - you would look cute, and I think you will love it too. DARE to try!

I don't know what my natural color is
As for the cold, I actually hurt more in the winter because of the cold and shorter do helps so I don't have to do as much. I've been putting it in a pony a lot, which is a sign that I need to do something different.

I've been debating cutting my hair. But I feel like no matter what I do, it doesn't look that good.

No way I could cut short though. Short just doesn't look good on me. My hair got cut short once when I was 12 and when I came home, there was a visitor at our house and thought I was a boy.

it's somewhere in the dirty blonde color family. When I was 10, I was out in the sun all the time, so it was sun bleached lighter.
