I swear he is messing with my brain... every day the forecast has been for it to only get down to 34 or so at night and every morning I've woken up and looked at weather.com and it's in the 20's  I'm so over this cold! Our electric bill last month (which was the first month in our new house) was $447! I'm so over this cold snap!!

cold snaps are definitely no fun, our weather has been weird too... cold, warmer, cold, warm (spring like weather) and back to freezing....
Mom to 1 precious boy! He loves hockey.

They never get the weather right here. . . it was supposed to get into the 70s last Sunday, and what did we get. . . cold, rain & fog. Of course 70s here in January would have been remarkable. . . I was so looking forward to opening a few windows and letting the breeze through for a change.
Oh well. . .

Mon. . .you're in Calif aren't you?? We were stationed in San Bernardino for 5 years. . . blah. And I worked in Riverside. But we have relatives & friends all up the coast, Orange County, LA, San Fran, Santa Monica, wine country. . .:-) I'm loving Virginia, I told DH before he retired that if he ended up with a job in LA he was going remote and I was staying here! LOL

We have snow forecast for tomorrow. Proper snow. Mind you, the News on-line posted a photo of a man walking along a path through a white field with his dog, with the caption "man struggles through deep drifts" - yeah right, so deep I could see all his bootlaces. They do panic here when it gets snowy....

Yes, I'm in Northern Cali although I did live 40 miles from San Bernardino in Victorville for almost 20 years.

Is snow not the norm where you are?? We NEVER get it here. I can remember it sticking once when I was a kid. We are at sealevel

I know. We do get snow on occasion, but not regularly enough for people to prepare. We might have a few bad winters then 10 years with hardly any snow. They can't keep snowploughs working and salt/grit supplies up with no snow. Last winter and the winter before were both bad but I missed it.
There tends to be a big north-east/south-west divide - in the south west we don't get it as bad as the north east because we have the gulf stream keeping our temperatures up. So when we do have prolonged snow here, it's quite exciting. And of course nobody is prepared and everybody panics!
In 1980/81 I remember walking 4 miles to school because the diesel froze in the buses. And I and my friends were all in trouble because we were late. No snow days or anything, the schools just stayed open and people got there if they could, teachers included.
These days people seems to act like Chicken Licken when a little bit of snow is forecast. And those newscasters do like to ham it all up.

Yes Mon,
I live in No CA and I can't believe it has been in the 20's. There have been 3 days in the past 7 days that we were colder than New York, Philadelphia and some other place according to our weatherman. 
I couldn't believe I had to scrap 1/2 inch of ice off of my windshield!
