I am new to scrapbooking. I have had a cricut for a few years and I mainly do home decor stuff with it. But I am interested in scrapbooking and would like to find someone to teach me. I have also purchased a gypsy for my cricut and have no clue how to use it. I live in the Westpoint Georgia area. I have a lot of free time and I will travel. Thank you to those who are willing to help.

Hi and welcome to SJ. I'm no help because I live in England, but I didn't want to read and run. Are there any crops in your area that you might be able to attend? I hope you find someone who can help you.

Also you may want to see if you have any scrapbook stores that offer classes and maybe someone who works there can show you how to use it.

I know what you mean about being a visual person. Oh, another idea - have you searched for YouTube videos? I'll bet my bottom dollar that people have posted tutorial videos on how to work the Gypsy. It's worth a try?
I have a Silhouette rather than a Cricut, but I'm sure you use it for paper the same as you would for home decor, other than the paper thickness settings, and the guidelines for that should be in your manual. You could use it to cut your page titles if you have a font cartridge.
Is that what you mean?

Hi,
I use YouTube for learning about most things, it's a wonderful resource!
For the Cricut I would lead you to
My Pink Stamper
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1A7BD D2F557...
Her videos are perfect for learning how to use the cricut. I'm not sure if she has any on the Gypsy. She might.
or if you just do a search on YouTube you'll come up with lots of videos on using the Gypsy!
I use my Cricut for almost every scrapbook page that I do. Sometimes I'll go to Cricut.com to just look at other ladies projects. It really gives me inspiration....
I have a YouTube channel too, I've done some cartridge reviews.
Here's the link if you're interested

hope this helps!!

To learn my gypsy I pulled up the instruction manual that is built in to the gypsy. I would read about a function then I would open a new file and play with that feature until I felt I had a handle on it. Then I would move onto the next thing. For me was the best way to learn a little bit at a time. Good luck once you get the hand of it you will have a blast!!!!!
