Nobody has posted in here for ages, but I have a product question so here goes.
A few years ago I got this: http://www.craftworlddirect.com/fiskars-personal-p... (sorry about the external link but it's not available on scrapbook.com or in the store here). It has a blade which pokes out of the orange housing, just a tiny triangle.
Would you say that this is suitable to give to a 9-year-old girl? I checked with her mother, my SIL, and she said she was happy for our niece to have it. She only does crafting under supervision, and she is a sensible, co-ordinated child. So I included it in her box of Christmas crafting goodies, which she absolutely loved.
I can't help worrying a little though. Would you let your 9-year-old use it?

Rosey, I think she'll be fine. My kids have been using the larger version of this trimmer since they were much younger, and we haven't had any problems. I'm glad she loved her goodies.

Oh thank you Jeanette, that makes me feel better. She's a responsible kid and her mother keeps a close eye on things as she has a 6-year-old brother who is NOT responsible and co-ordinated!  Our niece understands that she needs to be careful.
