I know that Barnes & Nobles is a Nook store.... but do you know if they sell covers that would fit a Kindle?
I gave Mark the Kindle White for Christmas, it didn't come with a cover & we don't have time to order one before the trip.

I use a small portfolio -- you know, the leather, zippy thing that comes with a small legal pad inside. Pulled the legal pad out, holds the Kindle just fine, and I have room for other things if I want.

If you don't care about it being impressive, I found some super cheap on ebay for DH & DS. They're plain black, they look like leather and do the job just fine.
Just be aware that there are now tons of models of Kindles so you have to make sure you're getting the right one - some of them fit very tight and won't fit the other models.
