Do you keep your heat on 24/7 at this time of the year? Or does it go off overnight?

I hate hate hate heaters. So dry. I try not to use it at all, if the weather cooperates. But for YOUR kind of cold, yes, it would be on all the time.

We have ours set really low during the day when no one is home and then up it at night/over night . . . figure no need to keep it really warm if we're not there and we don't have any animals to worry about.

We have a boiler - and the old, standing radiator heat. It heats up and cools down slower than the furnaces I was used to. But I've grown to love the popping sound they make as the pipes heat up!

We usually keep it set on 66* when it's cold outside & it kicks on and off as needed. We'll adjust that # a bit if we're too hot or cold...

we do wood heat for most of the house but do have electric heat on in our bedrooms and bathrooms as it's up on the 3rd floor and the heat doesn't seem to like to climb the stairs. We keep it on during the day and at night just so we don't freeze.

Heat is on 24/7 here and usually is kept around 72 degrees. We have an electric fireplace in the living room to take the chill off at times and a pellet stove in the basement for the -40 nights. (Wood stove as well in case the power goes out.) I love the basement heat, it keeps the floors warm.

We have a gas burning stove in the family room. When it runs, the family room gets nice and toasty but the rest of the house is cold.

We have the furnace setting at a low temp, and it only kicks on if the stove can't keep up, usually, when it's super cold outside...

Jen lives in an igloo.

She doesn't want you to know she's really a penguin.

Maybe that's why we're not sick as often as some? The germs cant survive the cold.
