I was planning on giving my youngest nephew Abby's push/riding toy lion for Christmas. It was only used inside, so it looks brand new. I bought him Little Einstein stuff with the lion on it to go along with it.

Well...Abby was helping me wrap his Little Einstein book when Lilly walked in. She asked who it was for. I told her and mentioned I was giving him Abby's lion too. Lilly says, "so you're going to give him the toy his parents gave Abby for her birthday?" I thought our neighbor gave it to Abby for her 1st. Lilly is pretty sure my brother did.

So, now I'm wondering if I should still give it to him? I doubt my brother will remember what 'he' bought Abby (since his ex picked it out), but she probably will. Wwyd?

Ooh tough one. If there is any doubt I would avoid it. But that's just me because I'm paranoid about regifting.

On the other hand, you could say that Abby enjoyed her lion so much that you thought it would be nice for your nephew to have one ("too" implied but not said).

I actually keep a list of what DH and I have received from whom so that I don't regift back to the donor or their friends. I have one friend who almost always buys me silver which I never wear, or colours which don't suit me. Her gifts exactly suit another friend's colouring, so I often end up passing them on to her, and she loves them. Isn't that funny?

Thanks for the ideas! My dh thinks I'm right, but now I'm thinking Lilly is right.

I could imply the 'too.'
