I just got a call from Greg. He told me his cousin's wife is in the hospital right now with late stage liver cancer and not doing well. This girl is part of my monthly cousin's club that gets together for a night out. We are all very close and she is the most wonderful sweetheart in the world. I love talking with her. She has two girls, a junior in high school and a twelve year old. I just saw her, she looked good! Oh Lord, this can't happen! I can't imagine how scared she is right now. We can't talk to her or see her since they are doing an intense treatment start up to see if the can halt the progression of the cancer and she doesn't want anyone there. I'm going to send them a card offering my help with anything but I don't know what else to do until they tell us more.
Please lift her up in a little prayer if you can spare one. I'm so scared for her!

Oh this breaks my heart.
Would the girls be comfortable if you brought them home for an afternoon or a weekend, cookie making, or a bit of quiet time to let them chat? Offer to chauffer them to afterschool classes? I think as a Mom it would make me worry less if the kids' routine wasn't changed. Sorry Viv, {HUGS}

I agree Sharon. They do have a large family and I imagine everyone is rallying around the girls to help. We are going to offer to do everything we can but I think they might already have that in place. The oldest girl drives and I'm sure she will be in charge of taking care of the younger one along with the grandparents, aunts and uncles. Barb is really close to her brother and sister whom I'm sure are at the girls' side non stop.

Thank so much. I was just talking with SIL and she said they found four large rumors in her liver. She originally went into the ER with severe abdominal pain. I'm sure they did a CAT scan and found it right away. Chances are they are just extending life at this point. I wish we could see her but I know she o not wants to be with her immediate family right now. I'm just heart broken.
