Things are good...

1 - DH found a job I think he'll love
2 - We'll be able to carpool
3 - DH is graduating from college...finally
4 - DH's car has a balance of $413, so it'll be paid off in Jan.
5 - We're refinancing our house and will save $300/month and putting our loan down to 20 yrs (where it should be)
6 - Jenna is wonderful and so understanding
7 - I'm happy where I'm working and love my team members
8 - Thanks to refinance timing, no house payment to be made in Dec (hello being able to afford Christmas and new snow tires.
9 - DH's new job pays insurance 100%, so we'll still be able to afford double coverage, which I need
10 - I have the most supportive family in the world.
11 - My niece & nephew's birth certificates came in the mail, they're officially the proper names
12 - my newborn nephew is doing great, although still on oxygen, he's getting stronger by the day.

So....why am I being so freakin' whiny and upset about health issues? After home treating my costochondritis for 3 days, I gave in and went to the ER. Don't know what I was expecting, but they pretty much told me I have everything I need at home and to take it easy. My house is a mess and there's no real food because poor DH is the shopper and he's been doing finals. I just have a bit of PMS (poor me syndrome). But really have no reason to have it.

So, I give you permission to slap some sense into me. I don't want to hear that you're sorry because I know how lucky I am. DH is starting a job 2 weeks after graduating and it was his 1st interview. We won't go without a paycheck. So, let me have it.

Chronic health problems are overwhelming to the biggest optimists. I'm happy that many things in your life are wonderful and I hope they continue ten fold. But I also understand that not feeling well all the time is draining. Give yourself a break and allow for a bit of self pity, it's well and sadly deserved Michelle. I hope you start improving fast. Hugs sweetie.

This. I sometimes get into that spiral too over DH's job situation, and feeling guilty about feeling frustrated is a vicious cycle. I think you're doing the right thing by counting your blessings and focusing on the positive. Sometimes to snap myself out of it I think about how bad it could be ... that usually helps adjust my attitude!

well, being sick or unwell sucks.
I do love this quote though from Brian Andreas, Storypeople.

Vivi said everything I want to, so much better than I could.

Don't feel guilty, you are doing the right thing to get yourself out of your mood -- counting blessings and looking at the bright. You deserve hugs, sympathy, and a very very gentle boot in the pants if you want it. Love ya!

Sent home from work early as I couldn't keep my breath to talk without being in pain. Got a sub for tomorrow and dr put me on a "zombie regimen" for the weekend to try to kick it. So not happy. I love teaching and love my students and hate when I have to hand them over to someone else.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, it's been a frustrating week.

Thanks, I woke up about 2 hrs ago and my after hrs clinic closed at 9:00, so no anti-inflammatory shot for the night.
My dad is taking Jenna to and from school tomorrow (100 miles for the 2 trips). I love that my dad's job allows him to do it.

How long is your commute to school? 50 miles each way? I was thinking Jenna goes to your school now.

25 miles each way since she's going to school with me. So, when my dad takes her, it ends up being 100 miles in a day.

Hugs Michelle! You are such a strong person - you deserve a little "PMS," as you put it, every once in a while.
