Hi all -

I'd like to get my niece a scrapbook "starter kit" for Christmas. She doesn't live near me so it's something I would need to mail (and I can't sit with her and go over what types of supplies she's interested it). She has expressed an interest in scrapbooking though and I know she has a camera. She's 12.5 yo.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to get??

Thanks.

What a lovely idea. Can you make her up a couple of page kits from your supplies? What colours does she wear - is she a pink fan? If she scraps pictures of herself, you could match the colours to her own clothes.

Rosey - those are all great ideas and if I had the time, I would definitely do that - unfortunately I'm looking for the "easy button".

I'm hoping a can buy a kit for her. I already have a d-ring album and some page protectors, I need to find the stuff to go in it!!

SEI makes some nice kits that have the papers pre-cut. Makes it nice if you don't have all the tools yet. They're easy to put together and the only thing you need is adhesive, but then you can dress them up as much as you want by adding extra embellishments, stickles, rhinestones, whatever.

Here's a link, but I think they also sell them in most of the "big box" craft stores:
