I have to come here to vent and share my frustrating story!! LOL I can't do it on facebook because my mum is on there and I don't want her to know what I got her for her Christmas gift this year!!

Okay so, I really wanted to buy both my mum and my step dad an i-pad each for Christmas, but they are really expensive. £600 each and it just wouldn't have been possible!

Long story short, I discovered that they were available on a website (a shop called Currys here in the UK) yesterday and being that the UK are jumping on the Black Friday bandwagon (even though it's not a holiday for us)they were at the reduced price of £529.

I thought I would check it out and with 1 hour to go before the price increased they actually reduced it to £485 (a mistake on their part as I now understand it)

I went to Quidco (a website you can get cashback from) and discovered I could get £100 cashback from them on each item I purchased! Brilliant. That made them £385 each.

Then I found a coupon code online which gave me an additional £50 off each one bringing them to £335 each.

So from £600 to £335... I couldn't say no!

I went ahead and reserved two of them online. One black and one white. 32GB cellular and Wifi. They don't deliver from the website but you have to go to the store to collect them instead (within 24 hours). I was pretty pleased with myself.

This was at 11pm last night and the computer said they had a black and a white one in stock.

I get to the shop when it opens this morning at 9am and ask an employee to collect my order so I can pay. He disappears out the back for half an hour!!! Comes back with two ipads and I'm happy.

Then he says.... there is no white ones just black ones. I asked if I could have the black one at a reduced price (being cheeky) and he asked the manager who said no. They can order the white one for me but it will take 3 weeks for delivery and they cannot do it at black friday prices.

Erm - excuse me, I ordered this yesterday and you have to honour the price please Mr Manager person!

I said I would just take the two black ones instead. I then asked the employee if this includes the pay as you go sim cards and he said oh yeah I'll go get them. Comes back with one.

I thought maybe there was two in the packet but then he says that will be £435.10 please.

HOLD THE PHONE MR!

I want BOTH of the black i-pads not just one!

Back comes the manager - "no sorry madam we cannot do that as you are only allowed one deal on each product" we argue a little about the fact that I actually ordered a white one which has a different product code blah blah and then he tells me he can sell me a second black one for £620.

NO!!!

Ultimately I stood my ground and got two black i pads 3rd generation 32gb black wifi and cellular for £870. Phew!

Get home and look at the back of the boxes. The numpty has only gone and given me 1 black 32gb wifi and cellular and 1 black 32gb wifi and 4g Ipad! (the second of which is better and means I've saved even more money!!)

I looked at the receipt and even that is wrong. That says I have a white 32gb wifi & cellular and a black one.

Oh dear.

Ultimately I am happy as I saved a heap of cash and managed to get 2 for the price of one AND a lovely gift for each of my parents. But now I have the dilemma of which I pad I give to which parent. LOL

I was in the shop over an hour. Why is this stuff never easy!?

I hope after all of the confusion that they work properly. I would be a little concerned. Lol! I'm sure your parents will be thrilled.

Wrap them both in the same paper and don't put a name on them. Christmas morning they each pick a gift and it becomes luck of the draw. You don't have to choose, lol.

Ooh that's a good idea Carmen! Or, you can get them a cheap case each in different colours so they can tell the difference. Or get another family member to get them the cases maybe?
Well done you, G!

Aren't you glad you have us!

I have a BF horror story buying online at Kohl's. I found these long shirts and pants cheap for my boys on their website. Go and start loading my cart. Then I realize that the items in the cart are $2 to $4 more than online.

I called their Customer Service, finally get a live person and she says that the prices had gone up while I was entering. I opened up a 2nd window with the website and said no, it's still the original price. So she honored it. She had to go in and manually change it all. I am ready to give her my Kohl's info and other line beeps. I put her on hold and come back and she is gone.

I call back and it takes forever to get a live person. 5 of the items got sold out by the time my order was finished. I was so frustrated.

What would I do without you all huh!? LOL Love the idea of changing them up a little. I ordered some cases for £10 each on amazon (in different colours) so they will be able to tell the difference. I might personalise the cases a bit more though before wrapping them up.

I have until 20th January to take the products back if they don't work! LOL OOooh if that happens I can't wait for that argument! LOL

What ever happened to the good old days when customers were always right and were treated well ?

It might be best not to personalise them with vinyl until you know they work!

DH has his in a magnetic case and you can't even see the original colour. The cases came in several different colours. I reckon that's the way to go.

The vinyl removes easily though. As long as you get the kind meant for walls.

I'm sure they will love them, but what a crazy story. At least you saved a lot of money - that's what you get for your headache.
