I have been wondering if I'm in the very early stage of perimenopause. It can last 2 - 10 years, so who knows.
I haven't skipped any cycles. They do seem to vary sometimes though. I'm not sure about cycle length because I don't keep track and if it does, not noticeably. But heaviness and duration. Sometimes it just shows up all normal-like. You know, bright red. Where it says, hey, I'm here! Take notice! And other times it starts out kind of old looking. Not the usual red, but that dull color. And it's like you didn't even know it was happening until you go to the potty and wipe. (Hey, I warned you it was TMI.) That's how it showed up today. I think I may have experienced another type of monthly change, too.
The other night I had night sweats. Not the first time I've had them. (Not every month either.) I'll have sweated AND I'll be cold. It's like WTF?
I just hope I'm not one of those 10-yr people.

The last time I thought I was having perimenopause symptoms I was actually pregnant with Abby.
You can be tested to see if you are perimenopausal. My mom had a hysterectomy when she was 28, but they left her ovaries. It seemed like she went through the change for 15 years. Her symptoms started when she was in her early 40's.

Tam,
You can have an US and bloodwork to determine if you are perimenapausal.

I'm uninsured.
Besides, they can't always be sure. Wouldn't make a difference anyway. Doesn't change anything.
And I know I"m not pregnant Jen.

I'm hoping it's starting and doesn't take 10 years. Will be really nice to be done with the cramps and lower back pain.

I just watched "Father of the Bride - 2" . And I thought about you. Are you sure there's not a bun in the oven?

I think I will cry me a river when the day comes for me. Fertility is something I always want to preserve forever. I know I can't butt I know I will mourn the loss of it.

I went around yesterday going through all of my handbags in search of emergency stashes of pads and tampons. I gathered them all up and gave them to Lilly. Poor Lilly, but that is one thing I will NOT miss.

I am so looking forward to never seeing Aunt Flo again! Thanking the Lord as of yet no night sweats or hot flashes. Next year I'll be hitting the big 50 and praying I never see it again!

Well, I only just turned 40 last month. But my body is weird anyway. Later bloomer to start and didn't have armpit hair like everyone else. So I'm hoping it'll come to me early.

I don't miss my monthly either. but I still have my cravings in the middle of the month. Even though it hasn't even been 2 months since my surgery.
DH thinks i won't have them any more in a few months.
Then what excuse will I use for my bad chocolate habit? Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it now.
