Yes, it is white plastic and had adverts painted on the outside. I covered it in American Crafts papers and stuck on a neat cork base.

I've had great success selling handmade name tags for Christmas presents and cards at this sort of thing - i'd come up with a couple designs you can mass produce and package them singly and in groups of 3 ( that seemed to be the magic number for me). Pre made scrapbook pages might work as well, or even little packs of themed embellies

Thanks for sharing this - I had started some tags but wasn't sure if they'd sell! How much did you price the three packs for, and were the three of the same or all three different?

I did both packs of the same and packs of three different designs. I found packs of three sold better than individually, but you needed the individual ones to make people feel like they were getting a deal, if that makes sense? I also did specific ones for mom, dad, grandma and grandpa, which were really well received. Packs of five also did fairly well, as I recall. For some reason, the odd numbers did better than a pack of 10.

The price will depend on your audience. I live in a small, rural community and likely would price three uncomplicated tags at $5 and individuals at $2. Fancier individual ones for mom/dad/grandma/grandpa, I sold individually and priced those at $3-4. If you were living in a bigger centre, you could likely get more - you have to know your audience, if that makes sense.

Now cards, I sold $4 each for a small card, $6 for large. People mostly bought the large cards because they thought it was value added. I offered a discount on a pack of three (I think it was $2 off? It's been a while).

Another observation - people LOVED buying anything (cards or tags) when there were stickles on it. They also loved non-Christmas themed things with butterflies - that was my biggest seller, especially if I put stickles on them.

Stickles and butterflies. Got it. I was actually wondering whether to put Stickles on the Post-It covers and I decided not to, but I think I will now.

I was planning on selling cards for £1 each or £5 for a pack of 6.

Thanks for that!

Thanks, Jenn, great advice! I would have never thought to do Mom, Dad, etc. tags either. Or use butterflies. I'm on a liquid pearls kick so hopefully those will go over as well as stickles!

I did well with tags too! This might help you for ideas if you haven't see it already! http://www.itsjusttoorandom.blogspot.co.uk/search/...

Nearer the time, the £1 shop is brilliant for cheap christmas themed bits and pieces, like mugs for hot chocolate (snowman soup) etc.

Jars of or maltesers did well, with a bit of christmas wrapping. Wilkinsons are selling kilner jam jars for £1 each at the moment, they would be perfect !

Thanks girls. I've been panicking about this craft fair. It's less than 2 weeks away now, and I don't know whether I have enough stuff to look decent on a stall, that's why I've been working hard. Candles next.

Vivi, I used Stix2 Anything tape, the ultra-sticky one. I have also learned that when decorating curved surfaces, it's best to use cheap/thin paper and expensive adhesive.

3 altered notepads. Sorry it's got all wide again, I don't know how to fix that.

Reindeer noses.

More cards.

And Rein-"beer" which I didn't get a photo of, which was just bottles of Pepsi Max decorated with pipe-cleaner antlers, googly eyes and a red pompom for a nose.

Thanks everyone!

And that's it. The Craft Fair was this afternoon. It went pretty well I think. They made £120 on the raffle. There were around 12 stalls at £20 per stall, so that made £360 plus any other donations that I don't know about. Not that I had a chance to go round anyone else's stalls - lesson learned: take someone else with you.

I spent £42 on goods for the stall, and put in days and days of work. After taking the stall charge out, my takings came to £41.70. Ah well, it was fun.

There's the Rein-beer, on the right side at the back.

You did a really awesome job, Rosey. Your table is beautiful. The craft fair I was in was disappointing. It was beautiful with a great selection of nice things and went off without a hitch, but we just didn't get many shoppers. We think there were lots of reasons other events that weekend, lousy weather, location hard to find, etc.). But it sure wasn't the turnout we expected. The good thing for me is now I have all the gifts for my co-workers already done.

Did you have much left afterwards?

Love the cards you made too!

so many cute things. If your craft fairs are like anything here, you might have someone buy 1 so they can take it home and make a bunch of them. they've actually put up signs that say "no pictures" so that people don't just take pics and make their own.
That being said, I do think I'm going to steal one of your ideas to give as thank you's to my volunteers and prep time teachers.

It's no problem. I got some of the ideas from Pinterest anyway, and some of my customers openly said they would be using them for Rainbows, or their primary school class. I even gave the details for Pinterest to one lady so she could look for herself. It doesn't worry me. That's what I love about crafting, that most people are generous with their ideas.
