I have a LO that has me a bit perplexed. My DH has a somewhat extensve LP collection. Well, I want to do a LO about it. And all I've come up with so far is a title for the LO. I've thought about printing a photograph of his favorite album on cardstock and using it as an emblishment. But his favorite album is a funky color scheme from the 70's, it yellow, blue and red I believe. If I'm not mistaken, it's a Led Zepplin album. But I can't think of any quotes, what to journal or other emblishments and I need it to make a 2 page lo. I also need to find a way to make the letters of the title a little creative. I'm thinking about making it on 2 12x12 sheets and then trying to find a way to frame it for him, so it would roughly be 2'x2'. Yeah, a gigantic poster. That's my goal. My room looks a bit, umm, well...let's just say that I'm not sure he outgrew the typical teen phase as far as wall art is concerned. LOL.

Any ideas? I'm not very good at drawing, so.

You mean 1'x2'? That's a good idea.

How about creating the title in matching colours on the computer using a 70s font, then printing it out nice and big onto white card and cutting it out with a craft knife? You don't say how long the title is though LOL.

Here are a few good ones:

For embellishments, you could cut black circles out for records, and stick smaller circles in the centres and punch a hole out of the very middle. Just small ones so you wouldn't need much detail. You could use neon colours which are back in fashion again {shakes head in wonder} and you could search for the logo or icons of his favourite bands, print them off and layer them.

Can you make the LO look like the album? Many of them had great album art. What is the album?

I was wrong, his favorite album isn't Zepplin. That's his second favorite. His favorite one is Lynyrd Skynyrd

As for the size of the poster, yes, I meant 1'x2'. I was tired last night when I posted that.

The album looks like this: Lynyrd Skynyrd Second Helping

Well that gives you huge scope! Hexagons are just coming into fashion in a big way, and it's easy to get wings, they have been around for a while now. Rainbows are really versatile.

The band name looks as if it has been done in bones! The title reminds me of a font but I can't find it. I'll keep my eyes open.

Any of those suggestions any good for you?

Yes, those ideas are helpful and thank you for the font links. The letters on that album cover are done in bones. Hmm, I bet I could get some "bones" around Halloween (it's a holiday we don't celebrate, but after the holiday all that holiday themed stuff goes REALLY cheap at Wal-Mart).

I've also been thinking about the title for the LO, and given the look of the album cover, it almost makes me think "Disco Fever", only none of the bands my DH likes ever did "disco". But, "Vinyl Fever!" could be perfect. With the exclamation point, there's exactly the same number of characters. Which means that Vinyl would go on one 12x12 page and Fever! would go on the other. And my DH does have other album cover with similar funky 70's looks.

I loved the rainbow with the wings on that cover. They are a really good band too, I've listened to them. They have some nice songs.

Yup, Sweet Home Alabama was one of the songs we did in the band I was in - loved it!
