I totally agree. Passing on tips and tricks really do help. I'm now on the learning curve with the KNK Zing and MTC. I love the MTC program as it is very user friendly.

Do you use MTC with your Silhouette?

No I don't. I'm very happy with the free Silhouette Studio software, so I haven't looked at anything else. But I just looked now, and MTC is not free, and it isn't Mac-compatible. So I'll be sticking with Silhouette Studio.

I glad that you are happy with your software. Yes there is a fee for MTC, but once you own it all updates are free. Some cutting machines now come with MTC software as part of the machine. My cutter came with the software. MTC currently has a mac version out for KNK and are working on adding other machines.

Andy the designer is always working on making the program more user friendly. I think this year there has been 3 or 4 major updates. The latest one that I love is allowing the importation of gsd files. You can clean them up and reduce the size of the file without affecting the quality of the design.

Oh and MTC also doesn't seem to be compatible with the old Silhouette even on Windows, and that's probably a show-stopper, since I doubt they'll bother to write Mac software for an old version. Ah well.

You're probably right. If your machine does what you want stick with it.

If I upgrade my Silhouette then I will definitely think about getting it though, as long as there is a Mac version available.

ugh. so i got a cameo (yay!) and did one cut which was awesome. then i had read before you were supposed to clean the blade in between cuts so i tried it (with this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q1RkIBSiL4&a mp;fea... and messed up my blade! i don't need to do anything with it on a 7. i've gotten blisters and my fingers are weird colors trying to get it back past 7. it is STUCK! wish i would've read some of the comments, but i had read elsewhere in various places about opening it up and cleaning it. :-/

lesson learned!!! ;(

Some of these stencils... >_< all the little things can take all day to punch out. One day this will probably be extinct and ppl will talk about back in the day when they had to spend time to punch out these things. :-P
