use your scraps
lace
outline (around the edge of your page, or around pics, etc.)

COW 32 is in the pasture.
I am going to concentrate more on the journaling with old family photos and less on a scrapping technique. Every family has a story to tell and a heritage album is a great place to tell it.
Thanks for the challenge, Tam.

Those are cool pics! You're lucky to have so many old photos. I always wonder if I look like any ancestors. And just what they look like in general. Since my father was adopted I have no idea what his biological side looks like at all.

Love the LO Jan!
I love all the old photos my mom left behind. The problem I have is no info!! No dates, no stories! But I love scrapping them!
Tam, how sad that you have no old photos! They are our heritage! Even without the dates and stories, they mean a lot to me to have them!

My mother has one of her maternal grandmother when she was young. It's cool. I do have a few that was sent to my mother by email from a relative from her father's side (I think he's a cousin - who replied to her queries on the internet when trying to find info about her father.) But other than her father, we don't know who is who in them. Oh, except one that is a pic of her father and uncle. I tried to contact the guy via facebook but he didn't reply.

I have been playing Super Sleuth lately. Besides all these great old photos I have also inherited original birth, death and marriage certificates, military records, news clipping, property deeds etc so it helps putting the pieces of the puzzle together. I had no idea that my father had a third brother (always thought he only had two) as there are no pictures of my Uncle John. Now I know that John was born in 1918 and died of a ruptured appendix when he was only 3 yrs old.

My mother was the oldest of 12 kids. After mom passed away in 1993, I did take all those photos to one of my aunts for more info. Since there were 12 kids, I'm sure most of the stuff, including G & G's stuff, was distributed to all who are still with us.
Most photos, I don't know if they were posing for special occasions or they were just random occasions. Most didn't have dates, so I just compare photos according to the way my mom looked. There were a set of photos that were dated 1938, so no guessing on them. But the others?? no clue!
When scrapping them, I just look at the photos and imagine what was going on...
As far as I'm concerned, they are treasured photos that I'm enjoying scrapping!!!

Yea, another one done!
I kinda feel like I cheated on this one. DD did the 8.5 x 11 part of this lo back in 2000 for a contest, but it has been sitting in a drawer in a page protector. I came across it and thought this challenge would be perfect for this lo. I just put it on the 12 x 12 card stock and added the other challenge parts, out lined around the page, used left over letter stickers (scraps) and a bit of paper lace.

well, at least you added to it and the part that was pre-done wasn't counted towards it.
I like how you turned it into a 12 x 12. I've done that before, too!

My first cow lol!! Had to start somewhere, so 32 was it. Used some scraps, doily on the side I count as lace & outlined the page! I combine this with another challenge, hope that's ok.

Still working on these!! LOL!
This LO, the banner spelled "thanks", so I just put other letters on it to spell "kitty ". Not sure I like how I outlined the background paper, but it's done! And then I couldn't decide on the date! LOL! 8 x 8 LO
