so the hospital bills are pouring in, and piling up - the cost is absolutely rediculous - so much more than we ever expected or planned for
and we were saying "well, at least we hit our outrageous deductible, so when dh goes to get the "big V" at least the insurance will pay for most of it --- well, we call today, and guess what?? they don't cover vasectomys at all. what crappy insurance. It would make MORE sense to pay for birth control than all this that they would have to cover for another pregnancy.
GRRRRRR - I swear we just can't win.

I'm sorry Mindy. How much do they charge out of pocket for the "v"? More than a year's supply of diapers?

I don't understand why they don't cover it either.
Friends aren't people you particularly like for any special reason. You just like people because they're your friends.

Yeah, there are a lot of insurance's that don't cover the big V. My SIL just had her second child, there's a 10 yr. gap between her two girls. Well, her husband has a 15 yr. old son from a previous marriage that they are raising and the insurance wouldn't cover for him to get the big V, so she got herself tied!
I think insurance companies are just a whole bunch of red tape and hoops to jump through. My son's insurance won't cover a B12 shot to prevent nerve damage, but will pay for visits to a neurologist for nerve damage!!!! WTH! Wouldn't the shot be cheaper? We pay for the shots out of pocket as recommended by his neurologist. Ugh. On top of having pernicious anemia (an inability to absorb B12 from foods, etc.) he also has a form of Autism known as Asperger Syndrome. We learned about the Asperger's when he was around 3, but he was about 10 before we found the anemia that requires the injections.
Having an Aspie for a son can be VERY interesting. He teaches me a lot, and challanges me a bit too. Sometimes I think he's just a little too smart, but he's a good kid.
