The last time we boarded (6 years ago), it was $12-$15/day ($12 at the vet, $15 at the kennel.)
I began checking local rates here, as we bring home our new dog tomorrow.
Whoa! Rates have gone up (obviously; 6 years have passed, but it was still a bit of a shock.) The closest kennel (an awesome one at that) charges $21/day. Is this about the norm now?
On a more happy note, we don't have a tub to bath our new dog in (we train our dogs to stay on the main floor. Our tubs are upstairs and we don't have a basement so no drainage tub there either.) We didn't want to wash him outside in the winter. There is a grooming place 5 minutes from us that allows you to wash your dog using their tub, shampoos, conditioners, dryers, towels, and a bandana for $10. Whoohoo!!!

Free for our working dog, and $10/day for our retired dog. The $10 is a discounted price.
They have doggy washes around here like car washes. It's very convenient.

Scarlet gets groomed by her sisters owner. It costs $5. To board her is $5 a day. I'm sure it's a family discount!!! lol!

For Chloe I think it was around 21 a day. To get her groomed it would be around 40.

Okay, wish I got the discount perks that some of you get. But for those who don't, what are you paying to board? Shanon's fee is in line with mine. Anyone else?

Oh I guess I should add we are pretty picky about our places so we are willing to pay more to make sure the place is quality. Not saying cheaper places are worse but for us the place we felt comfortable was around 21. I dunno what the fee will be to board her since we moved though.

At our vet its $10 a day plus the shot for kennel cough I think that is $8 for the shot. They give them a bath the day before we pick him up. I have not had to take older dog inlaws keep him. Because the little dog is just plain rotten, hyper, and old peeps get deal with that. LOL!
We love our vet he is the best, along with the ladies that work there.

I can't remember, it's been awhile since they stayed there. It's at our vet & I am thinking around $18-25 a day? I love them there .... they are good to my dogs and let me make payments

We are taking ours to a kennel for the first time ever today - it is $20 per night but they have a 2 night minimum charge - so he's only staying for one but we have to pay for 2 - I have never ever boarded a dog before so I thought this was actually pretty cheap - I was thinking it would be a lot more for some reason!

Thank goodness they require it. My vet didn't and my dog got kennel cough. If your dog has never had it, Let! Me! Tell! You!

you all get some good deals. We paid 35 a day for our dog and 16 a day for our cat when we went to PEI this summer.
