Do you use fake (silk) flowers and/or greenery in your house? Most of the critics on rate my space hate fake flowers and greenery. Not to mention they love the bare minimum in a room. Do you like and use fake flowers, how do you use them? Wreaths, arrangements, etc. I just made a wreath like I've seen in a French country boutique but now think it is too big for inside.:( It is a pretty big wreath with lots of hydraneas and greenery that sticks out, as opposed to flowers glued flat on a grape-vine wreath.

I don't have any plants or flowers, real or fake, because I don't want the house too "girly". But I think a small arrangement of fake flowers to brighten or highlight an area is ok. DEAD/dried flowers are supposedly a "feng shui" no no, because all they symbolize is death. But I see lots of "modern" rooms decorated with large sticks in a big vase. I wonder what they symbolize. I agree with Nancy, I wouldn't want to dust fake flowers.

I have one plant which is pretty hardy. I try to grow herbs in the summer but this year only a little bit of basil made it. Usually I have a few plants on my windowsill in the sunny part of the year. I have some dried flowers in the powder room that have been with me since before I was married. No fake flowers, decorating is beyond me.

I have a planter box in my foyer area that currently has fake plants in it and I HATE them. But my DH is gonna rip it out one day soon so I'll cope.

I do fake greenry (like ivy) around the top of my entertainment center, around a couple windows, and when we get the kitchen done it will be all around the top of my cabinets. I like it...I think it gives a country feel which is what I love.

I don't have any plants at all in my house. I am considering putting a large fake palm or something behind our headboard. It is at an angle in the room right now, and behind it is an empty space. I don't really want to use the fakes, but do I have a choice? Maybe some giant feathers or plumes or something.

PSA - while I don't use fake plants myself, I think it's 100% ok to use them as decor in your home, HOWEVER... please do NOT plant them in your flowerbed out front.

I have some real plants. The only fake ones I have come out in the fall - they are the little table arrangements I made for our fall wedding.

OMG my sister showed me a house in her neighborhood that had fake flowers in their flowerbeds - I almost died. It was SO obvious that they were fake!! It looked ridiculous.

I have fake greenery and some flowers all over the place. I love the way it looks in my home and don't care if decorators don't. I also have real plants and flowers as well.

I have fake arranegments in every room including the bathrooms. I love them & think they bring alot of color to the room very inexpesively. I have a wreath on my front door for every season & holiday & i have a wreath that hangs on my pantry door in the kitchen.
