This is for Tam and Laura Ingals... well and anyone else who is into gardening.

I have sprouts! My lettuce is already coming up! and it's only been 3 days since I planted it. Now if this weather would just warm up! We're having record freezes

cool!
Pretty soon I will have to start figuring out what I'm doing in my beds. Although it's months away to plant. A couple months til seed starting.

I've been looking up the average frost free date and planting guides. I'm sure I'm pushing it. As many plants as I've planted indoors, its going to look like a jungle in here before I can transplant them out of doors LOL

What sucks for me with seed starting is I don't really have the light or space. It's too bad my kitchen light chandelier faces up instead of down. I could lower that and use it.

The weather has been crazy here, so it's going to be a while before we start planning anything. . .one day in the 30's, next day in the 60s. . . it can't decide. . . not that we do very much anyway!

My bedroom has windows the length of the room that are south facing. Like 20 ft long Then at night I move them into the living room where the fireplace is to keep them warm LOL I guess it paid off... I just hope they aren't the only thing to sprout. I still have 4 more greenhouse seed starter things that I can fill up. Then I'll have to transplant into bigger pots at some point. It'll be crazy LOL

I always tell myself I'm going to do a "real" garden, but I never seem to be home enough to even get it started. . .or to take care of it. I would love to have tomatoes. . .lots and lots of them. . .red and green (love those fried green tomatoes!).

I think I have 50 or so tomato plants started LOL I'm going to be in trouble if they all sprout. I did a whole flat of Lettuce then it dawned on me I should probably have staggered it. I have bell peppers started, cilantro and beets. I still want to start some hot peppers... oh and I have broccoli started too. It will be interesting..

I've also bought seeds for others but the timing isn't right to start them. I've been doing lots of reading. I have no clue really what I'm doing

Yes I have a few different ones... Jalapeno and Serrano. Those are the kinds I use when I cook. I need to start them now... well according to the charts

Are you going to can all of these or just use/freeze them as you go?? I know the ladies here can their stuff, wish I could do that. . . but even freezing would be a benefit to me. At this time I'm the proud owner of one small Basil plant on my kitchen sink. . . that I use all the time and am desperately trying to keep alive

I have a bell pepper plant in my bathroom. I saved it at the end of last year since it hardly grew. Now it's growing weird - spreading out like a tree. And I'm trying to stay ahead of the aphids. I think I nearly killed it once overspraying it. It lost quite a few leaves, which is probably part of the reason it looks like a bushy-top tree. I don't know if I'll last holding onto it for 4 more months before it can go back outside!
