It's 2013! Happy New Year everyone!
So, what was your OLW for 2012, and what have you chosen for 2013?
Mine for 2012 was "relinquish". I had to relinquish our lives and friends abroad, and a certain amount of control over my own life. I had to let a lot of possessions go as well, many sentimental. I also wanted to let go of judging people by their actions, because you never really know what's going on in people's lives, and I don't like the tendency in myself to be critical. "Relinquish" seemed fitting at the time, and it was.
I don't know about 2013 yet. I'm throwing around "hope" and "better" in my head, but they're not the whole story. I need to think.

Oh the timing! I'm listening to Ali Edwards' 2013 January class right now...
My 2012 word was Accomplish. There is so much that I do and sometimes I don't do them as well as they should be done and sometimes, I don't finish them. I chose accomplish as a way of consolidating and completing multiple goals I have in order to be the best Liz I can be.
I'm pretty sure that my 2013 word is Action. I have yet to sit down and start my January assignment, but Action is what is shouting to me at the moment, for nothing is accomplished without action.

Liz,
I like the word Action. Can I word-lift it from you? I need to take Action this year to accomplish many goals I have set for myself.
I don't need to list those, do I Rosey? Let's just say I could go on and on...

I like what you are choosing girls. My word seems to be "fit". I have been working hard on becoming physically fit and want to take it to a new level this year. While my workouts have made a huge difference on my outside, they have also charged my inside. I'm happier and more content. The word fit also refers to what I want to include more of in my life this year. I want to fit in more praying, more understanding, more charitable work, more time with new experiences and I want to deepen the bond with Nature.
I'm not sure what this year will bring but I have been thinking about all these things regardless of the calendar appointment.

I think I forgot all about my OLW about halfway thru the year - it was something like "caring" - cuz I wanted my older boys to know that even after I got busy with the new baby, that I still loved them too.
For this coming year my word is "GOALS" - I have much I want to accomplish this year.

I don't even know what the word was last year. 
I wasn't going to come up with anything. I tend to forget and not think about it. But it came to me earlier. "Do." As in stop procrastinating. Get things done. Don't sit around so much. Do things. Our senior class motto back in 1989-90 was "Just do it" (snagged from Nike).
Friends aren't people you particularly like for any special reason. You just like people because they're your friends.

I don't remember last years word, but this years is balance.
I have so much on my plate that I tend to get overwhelmed and shut down. I need to find the BALANCE between single parenting, owning a business, the relationship, friendships, housework, yard work and me time.
I've already decided I am hiring a housekeeper to come in weekly and may just hire out the yard work as well.
I haven't scrapped in 4 years as I tend to put myself last, although I have a room full of supplies organized and ready to go.
So, of all the words that crossed my mind, if I can find balance, I will be less stressed and better functioning for all of the people who depend on me.

i'm kind of thinking along the line of adventure...
not a trip type of adventure but new things in my life, get rid of old habits, maybe look into doing some new things for us as a family, not necessarily just for me but for others as well.
Mom to 1 precious boy! He loves hockey.

LOL Tam. I'm thinking of "patience". This may or may not have anything to do with trying to get through to the telephone company to help with wireless problems on my laptop for the last 10 minutes...

I have more, because I have had more practise. I've learned that getting irritated is almost never helpful, especially when my DH is concerned.
Oh, here's a funny story. It was his first day back at work today after 2 weeks off. I've tried to engineer it that he had a really relaxing, chilled-out time, and until about 11pm last night, he was. Then he remembered a pile of things he hadn't done, and the printer played up, and he couldn't find a pair of trousers, and he was stomping about in a tizzy.... and I found a corner out of the way so he could stomp in peace.
As he went to bed, he wanted to know whether I was coming to bed now too, because he felt a bit... you know... yeah right, temper tantrums have always turned me on.... NOT!

I am thinking along the lines of balance too. Being a new mom has me looking at a lot of things in a new light. Although I am not back at work yet there are still lots of things in my life that I will have to find time for.

well, I'm sure I've had plenty of practice too but it's just not working.
