food prep day....
Anyone else getting some grub ready for tomorrow?
I bought a brining kit for our turkey, so we've got to figure out what to submerge / marinate that in.... and will be fixing a couple of other dishes which can be done ahead of time.
Britt's watching her little guy (a 2 yr old) for part of the day & we have a couple of errands to run. Mark should get here around 5.

I'm getting my hair (hilights) done today..then maybe I'll feel better about this bandage on my face. Especially when I have to go to the store and people are going to look at me and think my husband did this to me :)(see stomach virus post) I also need to figure out what dessert I'm taking to my MIL's for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

I have to get my turkey out of the freezer. I am not cooking it til saturday though.
I am making more banana bread today.
then I'm heading out to my sisters house to let the boys play with their cousins, and borrow her sewing machine cuz mine broke.

cleaning the guest room for Chris & Sierra rearranging furniture in preparation for the Christmas tree on Friday
running to the pet store for cat food
then to the hotel to pick up paycheck (usually I wait until I work, but with tomorrow being a holiday need to run to the bank today)

Hope your turkey is thawed about by then Mindy. I awlays have mine out about a week before. Even then, when I go to pull the stuff out of the cavity there's still ice crystals.
Yep - doing a bunch of it today so I can relax more tomorrow. I've got my pumpkin halved, scraped out, and baking in the oven. Then I have to mash it all up. I'll be cooking potatoes, carrots, rutabaga, green bean casserole.
I forgot to take my bread dough out of the freezer and make it the other day so now I've got that thawing on the counter, too. Thinking of making my own stuffing from scratch. However, there's also the box stuff in the cupboard if need be.

I still have the bread to bake - waiting for it to finish rising. The green bean casserole (I think I'll throw that together now), and the pumpkin pie.
I'll make the glaze for the carrots later whenever hubby gets home with the orange juice. The carrots are already steamed rather than cooking the in the glaze sauce.

Completely non-Thanksgiving stuff.
I drove back 120 miles from my Mum's with an extra 40 miles detour thrown in to get DH's suitcase repaired. Thankfully (see, I got "thanks" in there somewhere!) it only took them 15 minutes.
Thankfully, because the rest of the journey was atrocious; rain, high winds, leaves, and the car got hit by a large pigeon blown off-course. Poor thing.
Then unpacking, Chinese takeaway and now we're off to bed.
Tomorrow and Friday will be final craft fair panicking before the fair on Saturday afternoon.
